Fix-it and Forget it Creamy Chicken Breasts

November 29, 2010 By Melanie Roberts 4 Comments

This week I will feature recipes from the Fix-it and Forget-it Christmas Cookbook. We love our Slow Cooker, and being a busy mom of 3 it sure is a big help in the kitchen. Why not let someone else cook dinner tonight….

Tonight’s Menu is:

Creamy Chicken Breasts  with Rice, Salad and Dinner Rolls

Here is what you need:

  1. 6-8 skinless chicken breast halves
  2. pepper to taste
  3. paprika to taste
  4. (I left the salt out, it was plenty salty for us)
  5. 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  6. (I also used 1 can Cream of Chicken soup, not in the recipe)
  7. 1/2 cup of Sour Cream

Mix Sour Cream, Cream of mushroom ( and Cream of Chicken) pour into crock pot, add chicken. Close lid and let cook on low for 6 hrs.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.

How did we like it ?

We really liked the chicken. It was moist and cooked perfect, not at all dry. The sauce was creamy, but not overpowering. This can easily be adjusted to light Cream of mushroom soup or light sour cream as well. Very quick dinner, fairly cheap and very tasty. We will have this again real soon. Nice quick and easy homemade dinner,  when you just don’t have the time to cook.

See, how simple it was to put on a nice home cooked dinner and you don’t even have to run to McDonald or Taco Bell… This will save you a lot of money, and best part… You don’t even have to know how to cook, if you can plug the crock pot in, you are in business… ENJOY…

Come back tomorrow for another Tasty Meal from Fix-it and Forget-it Christmas Cookbook, we will have “Now that’s Lasagna” on the Menu….

That looks yummy! Ibet my hubby would love it! I didn’t know there was a Christmas edition of Fix it & Forget it. I’ll have to hunt that one down. 🙂
