This post was written on behalf of Capri Sun for 2Boys+1Girl=OneCrazyMom by our friend Pam from Simple Southern Mom. Pam bravely traveled to NY City, in the middle of a snowstorm, for this assignment to bring all our readers the amazing news about Capri Sun. Thank you sooo much Pam, we sure appreciate it and hope you had a great time and thank you to Capri Sun for teaming up with us.
Capri Sun provided Pam’s travel expenses to New York for the event that she is writing about. The thoughts and opinions expressed in this blog post are my own.
My kids have been Capri Sun fans since they first discovered the “cool kid sized pouch that tasted good.” I was a fan too since each Capri Sun allowed my children to have a drink they enjoyed while giving me the peace of mind of knowing they were receiving 25% less sugar than leading juice drinks.* What I didn’t know, until I attended a round table discussion with the directors and scientists involved in the development of Capri Sun, was how much they took the advice of moms!
Capri Sun has listened to moms over the years, creating a variety of juice drinks to meet the changing needs of parents and children. The product line- up includes:
Capri Sun 100% Juice **
We were the first to get the latest scoop on Capri Sun’s newest development and I want to share it with you. It’s the Capri Sun clear bottom pouch that allows you to see the goodness in the pouches. I was shocked to see Capri Sun is clear! They use no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives so all I could see was the natural goodness, including small pieces of fruits and vegetables.
I got the lowdown on the making of Capri Sun while touring the factory and have to share some fun facts. Capri Sun was first developed in Germany, where it is known as “Capri-Sonne”. They have their own names and flavors, including “Fairy Juice.” We lobbied, I think unsuccessfully, for the introduction of princess and pirate punch in the US. Capri Sun sells over five billion pouches a year in the US alone, with an additional four billion pouches sold around the world. I can’t even imagine how many pouches that is, although my kids are big helpers in the consumption process.
