Crazy Road Trip with a Crazy Sandwich #MurphyUSA

The kids had been bugging me to run over to Orlando and spend some time at a Water Park. We have season passes but just hardly ever go. I know what a waist. We do love it when we go, so Saturday we finally had some time and we didn’t plan much, we just woke up and decided let’s go. We got a late start and didn’t leave first thing in the morning, as we usually do.

I decided to stop at our local grocery store to pick up some sandwiches and snacks and drinks for the park. Half way down the street my Tween decided that he did not like the snacks that I had picked up and he wanted some Pringles;

We were in luck, I was just about to pass a Murphy USA Gas Station, so I hid the breaks and pulled in. While I was there I decided to check out the gas and was pleasantly surprised that the gas was at $3.55 a gallon and if I use the Wal-Mart Gift card I can save a few extra pennies. It even will tell you on the pump that it will be $3.50 how cool is that….

I send hubby to fill up the car, while the Teen and I ran to our little “concession” stand ( that’s what I call the Murphy USA Snack Express..lol).

I had no idea that this little tinny concession stand had such a large selection of snacks; they must have had 2 full shelves of all sort of stuff from chips to gummies and pretzels, anything you wanted was there.

The Tween decided on a can of Pringles and a coke and I needed some water; the wonderful mom that I’m, I only grabbed my debit card, didn’t anticipate a HUGE bill or even an issue, gave the debit card to the Tween and told him to pay….the very nice lady behind the counter looked at me and said “Expired”… Excuse me?? 118_3777

I asked her again, she very friendly, while about 5 costumers are behind me, said “Expired card”…. I had no idea that my debit card expired in January 2011…oooooppps. I ran as fast as I could across the line to grab Hubby’s card and good thing he keeps his cards up to date, we were able to pay …lol.. Never had that happen before, how embarrassing Sad smile.

Finally, we made it to Orlando and all excited to spend the afternoon at the waterpark, we decided to eat before we entered the park. I had to take the toddler to get her ticket, since she now was a paying visitor Sad smile and left the crew behind in the picnic area. I was only gone 5 minutes with the Toddler, when I came back and my Tween and Teen both added most of their Pringles to their sandwich… OMG… did they really just add Pringles??

I had never seen that before… weird..WHY would you add chips to a sandwich? That’s Crazy…. the boys kept telling me it was good… after a bit of convincing, I gave it a try…. and I must say, it gave the sandwich an added crunch, and a dash of flavor.

Actually, it was  so  yummy and different… I loved it. This is my new way of eating a sandwich, you should give it a try. The coke that we picked up at Murphy’s was just perfect companion for our crazy sandwich creation; Would love to hear how you eat your Pringles and what drink of choice would go with your crazy sandwich creation?

My Tween loved his sandwich with Salami, Onions, bell peppers, Pickles and two kinds of Pringles, the Sour Cream and Onion and the Original kind. Yup, he’s a growing boy Smile

We also had a few minutes to spare and the kids decided to make the Pringles Face, they had a blast, even the toddler got in on the fun.

Who would have known that a can of Pringles and a Bottle of Coke could be that entertaining. You should try it sometimes.
