We have 2 boys, ages 5 and 8, and with the holidays just around the corner we are always looking for something other than your typical race track, action figure and board game to add to their Christmas list . How many of those can you possibly have anyway? Plus if your kiddos are anything like ours they open them and play for an hour and then their done! Never to be played with again!

When we were asked to review the new Electronic Snap Circuits set from ELENCO through the Steve Spangler Science store; we honestly thought it was just your typical snap together building set. We were soooo wrong !!!!

Snap Circuits is all about circuits. You build a circuit by snapping the pieces together and following the very simple instructions. You can make a light light up, make music come out of a speaker, make a fan go and fly off, build a lie detector, motion detector and even make a water alarm ! You put resistors in, or add things in different sequences and see what happen. You can even play electronic games with your friends. What happens when you add a cup of water to a circuit? We can’t wait to find out!

The instructions and explanations are clear and easy to understand and there are so many projects that can be done. The thing that was most amazing is that depending on what project you choose to assemble they only take about 20- 30 minutes to actually complete!!

My husband helped the boys with these fun projects ( our younger son is only 5 but of course wanted to join in on the fun). Once they got started they didn’t want to stop building! My older son even had a friends birthday party to attend and was hesitant to stop playing! Even that night my younger boy asked to play again with the Electronic Snap Circuits!

We love, love, love this set!!! This is the perfect addition to your holiday list this year so don’t miss out on having Santa bring something amazing for your kiddos! A+ A+ A+

This set also won 11 toy awards from Dr. Toy, Astra, Babyzone and Education.com just to name a few!!!

This set contains over 60 parts and can build over 300 exciting projects. (includes all of the SC100 projects and 200 new ones!) Includes Projects 1-305 manuals and is intended for ages 8-108 ! Requires 4”AA” batteries.

I have this on my future wish list. Probably have to wait a bit before our 3 year old and 18 month old are ready for it. But with an electrical engineer for a daddy, at least one of them is likely to get a kick out of it!

I don’t have kids yet but I think I want this for myself. Now I know what I want for Christmas along with a feel-good holiday movie. Thank you for this review!
