Happy St. Nikolaus Day
Every little boy or girl in Germany cleaned their boots and shoes and they are outside their door today! Today is a very special day and St. Nikolaus will visit the boys and girls and fill their boots with goodies; the traditional boot fillings were nuts, orangs and apples for all the good little boys and girls and coal or switches for the bad ones on the list.
St. Nikolaus is a tradition that can’t be missed during the Christmas season and we celebrate it every year in our home as well. Now, we don’t have a real Santa come to the house, that’s a tradition at home in Germany, though; but we still have the kids put out their boots the night before December 6th, in hopes that St. Nikolaus will fill them with some goodies.
When the kids woke up this morning, to our surprise, we found our Elf Magic Elf Becky inside the shoes with lots of goodies… Becky must have helped out St. Nikolaus last night and brought our St. Nikolaus goodies, special delivery from Germany.
This was a big surprise to our Princess, she didn’t remember our St. Nikolaus tradition and I bet this is one she will never forget and look forward to December 6th every year. Thanks elf Becky for being so supportive of our German traditions :0)
If you are interested to hear more about the St. Nikolaus tradition, be sure to visit one of my older posts, it will tell you all about St. Nikolaus Day.
Do you have an Elf visit this year, too?? Would love to hear what your Elf has been up to….Or do you maybe have some special Christmas tradition? Would love to hear them as well.
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow, you never know what this 427 year “young” Elf will get into…. Will she find a different hiding spot or maybe enjoy some family time.. no one knows…. You can check out her Adventures HERE in case you have missed some of them.
