As most of you know, I’m a busy mom of 3. When my oldest was born, many, many moons ago in Germany, his dad was in the military and brought me Enfamil the liquid version to the hospital, despite I wanted to nurse he and my mom kept feeding him Enfamil every chance they got. I was young and naive and had no idea that there was anything besides Enfamil and finally once I wasn’t able to nurse anymore, Enfamil it was for my son; back then not really sure if we had a choice.
I did have a choice when I nursed my second son, but he decided that a bottle was much more fun and at that time I found many more options besides Enfamil, even though, yet again the hospital gave me samples of Enfamil only, almost like nothing else existed. Kind of strange, looking back and thinking…. Really, why did no one ever tell me about Parent’s Choice™ or any other formula?
Now fast forward when my princess was born, I did my homework and I nursed her for almost a year until she weaned herself off; but we had times where I needed to supplement with formula or during some day outings, I did some price comparison and found that Parent’s Choice™ was almost $600 (!!) cheaper a year if you bottle feed full time over Enfamil. WOW! That was a shocker to say the least, $600 is a lot of formula, diapers, baby toys or just a start for the college fund that you would have paid for a more expensive formula.
While taking a closer look at Parent’s Choice™ I also discovered that Parent’s Choice Formulas are clinically proven to be as well tolerated as the national brands. meets FDA standards like all infant formula, Contains DHA and ARA, which may support brain and eye development Milk-based formula, Iron-fortified, Calcium for strong bones, Prebiotics to support your babies’ immune system. All the same values that Enfamil is known for. I did switch my daughter to Parent’s Choice™ and for her it was a great switch, I was able to save a lot of extra money and she had no tummy problems and to me it seemed she digested the Parent’s Choice™ a little easier with less tummy issues. It was a win win for both of us all around.
Parent’s Choice™ Infant Formula is an amazing option for moms everywhere, allowing them to give their baby the nutrients they need and save money in the process! Parent’s Choice™ carries a number of choices in products, “Clinically proven to be as well-tolerated as the national brands..” A few great options being: Parent’s Choice™ Advantage Powdered Formula Parent’s Choice™ Premium Powder Formula Parent’s Choice™ Gentle Powdered Formula Parent’s Choice™ Sensitivity Powdered Formula
Now that I know that there is a choice, Parent’s Choice™ to be exact, I hope you will check the brand out at your local Walmart as well and see how much money it will save you and how happy and healthy your bundle of joy can be.
Would love to hear if you have made the switch yet or what your thoughts are about the Parent’s Choice™ . Did you even know there was a Choice?

Isn’t it crazy how hospitals team up with one brand ONLY offer those? I am glad you found a new brand! I used Carnation formula when I had my daughter in the 90’s, it was a great way to supplement my breastfeeding because I didn’t make enough milk!

I am glad parent’s that need formula have a lot of selections and brands to choose from. In the late 80’s there wasn’t much selection and the prices were outrageous.

I remember using quite a bit of parent’s choice with my boys when they were new babies. I just couldn’t afford the other brands. I love to see the improvements they have made in the last 11 years.

What a sweet baby pic! And it is just CRAZY how expensive baby formula can be. I’m glad you are spreading the word that there are other options (more affordable!) than just the big brands. People need to know their choices so they can make an informed decision.

My son had to use special, expensive formula. I bet one of the sensitive parent’s choice would have worked for him too.

I do believe breastfeeding is best. But I know for some mothers it’s not possible. So knowing that Parent’s Choice™ was almost $600 cheaper a year over Enfamil, I would recommend it to moms that have to bottle feed.

I was never fond of the idea that I was a formula feeding mom, but when I got used to the idea I did a lot of reading. For me it was knowing that all formulas are FDA approved that made it okay. It may have been a store brand, but they were all held to the same guidelines. We saved a lot not buying name brand, especially with twins!

I do not use formula, I breastfeed. What a huge difference in the pricing, formula adds up! What a sweet baby!

It is very nice that moms have lots of choices for formulas. I breast fed and did formula and had to use the brand that WIC works with.

I felt the same way, didn’t really realize all the choices available for formula. I was able to nurse except on a few rare occasions when we did need to use formula.

Wow, $600/year is a HUGE savings. I’m glad there are less costly brands like this, especially for new parents who are on a tight budget and would otherwise struggle.

What another great post (I enjoyed one of your previous posts “plan for your valentine make it a fun dinner movie night for a bargain price of 30 what a hot deal!”)
But anyway, if the hospital recommended a particular brand (in this case Enfamil) I would have naturally assumed it was the all around best solution (duh!) I have to admit rather sheepishly that I was not familiar with Parent’s Choice! Just the savings alone is astounding! Who knew? Anyway, thank you for the write up, it was very informative and helpful!!
