January isn’t a really exciting month for most of us. The holidays are behind us and we are all trying to recoup. January in our home is a very exciting month, mostly because the kids countdown the days till they get to hang out in Tampa at the Monster Jam Monster Trucks event. We make it a family affair and a family tradition 5 years counting strong. As a little housekeeping, we did receive complimentary tickets for the event to share our experience with you.
My entire family loves when we pack up early in the morning to head out to Tampa, tailgate, have fun with friends and then head over to the Pit Party to meet all the trucks and their drivers.
This year in Tampa they had 14 trucks, including Grave Digger driven by Dennis Anderson; Son-uva Digger driven by Ryan Anderson; Team Hot Wheels driven by Scott Buetow; Monster Energy driven by Coty Saucier; Jester driven by Matt Pagliarulo; Xtermigator driven by JR McNeal; Rage driven by Cory Rummel; Barbarian driven by Devin Jones; plus OVER Bored, Bounty Hunter, Knucklehead, Madusa and Wrecking Crew.
Did you know that each truck stands approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, Monster Jam trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster Jam trucks can fly up to125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air. Pretty amazing, hu?
We had a blast, as always. The kids and even my hubby are still raving and talking about the show, sharing their videos, pictures and experience with all their friends. My husband has been a huge Monster Jam fan ever since he was little and he shows old videos that he has collected on VHS with the kids all the time, shares how much fun it was creating memories with his dad and loves creating memories with our kids now. Such an awesome, fun, and safe family event that everyone should experience at least once.
Tampa was a blast but you haven’t missed your chance, Monster Jam will be performing at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Gates open at 5 PM, opening ceremonies are at 6:30 PM, and racing starts at 7 PM. Tickets are staring at $15.
Not sure if your kids will like it (Trust me… They do… BUT…) ? There are a few free events around Orlando on Thursday January 19th to get up close and personal with a Truck and their Driver. It’s FREE so have some fun!
Now that you know you will have a blast, head over to Ticketmaster.com and pre-order your Pit Passes and event tickets and have a roaring time.
