Wow.. has it been 14 years already since I started watching ER? ER was one of the first shows that I got hooked on when I moved to the US. Here we are 14 years and 14 seasons later…. I was so excited when I was asked to review the entire 14th season that was released January 11th on DVD.
When Michael Crichton created ER back in 1994, no one expected that it would become the longest prime time medical drama in American television history. ER garnered many awards and award nominations including an Emmy for Outstanding Drama. After three seasons, George Clooney ( sad day 🙁 ) moved on. Still audiences favored the stories of County General Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, and its people.
I was unable to watch the entire season last year, being a busy mom some things just had to give and TV was kind of one of them. So the last few weekends i sat down, once in a while one of the kids would sit down with me, too and watched the entire Season all 825 Min of it 🙂
If you missed anything the first time around, here is your chance to see it now. Episodes include “The War Comes Home,” “In a Different Light,” “Officer Down,” “Gravity,” “The Test,” “Blackout,” “Coming Home,” “Under the Influence,” “300 Patients,” “Status Quo,” “Believe the Unseen,” “Atonement,” “Owner of a Broken Heart,” “As the Day She Was Born,” “Truth Will Out,” “Under Pressure,” “Tandem Repeats,” and “The Chicago Way.” Medical life and death struggles as well as personal ones all seem real.
This is what you can expect in the 14th Season: At an ER party, Nurse Chuny Marquez recalls, “I still remember when Mark Green and Doug Ross were running the place.” “Who?” asks a newcomer…. So much has happened in 14 seasons, so many people have come and gone, but the chaos of saving lives and the dedication of the people who make County General run remain. In this penultimate season of the powerful, award-winning series, personal tragedies threaten – and sometimes strengthen – relationships among the staff. And the patients bring their own compelling stories. A boy genius diagnoses his mysterious illness, a cancer-ridden prison doctor is haunted by the men he put to death, a woman arrives in the ER expecting her 13th baby. Triumph, loss, tears, joy…next!
How did I Like it:
I really liked the unaired Scenes, like the Highlight from the ER 300th Episode. Unaired outtakes are always fun to watch
There is really not much to say, this show really explains and promotes itself. ER has been nominated for 375 industry awards and has won 116. ER won the George Foster Peabody Award in 1995. In addition, the series has received 124 Emmy Award nominations. The series has won 22 Emmy Awards. It also won the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Television Dramatic Series” every year from 1995 to 2002.
Is there really anything else to add other than Job Well done? This show has by far excited the viewers expectations and I still love the drama, the Joy, the tears just like the on first Episode… now I’m just 14 years older and can sit back and have a ER marathon ….

I’d like to win because I watched the first season of ER and then I got too busy to follow it. Now 14 years later it might be fun to see the last season and compare it to the first.
