Ohhhh… stop counting calories.. toss out the diet for a day and enjoy some HOT, creamy.. ohh soo delicious rice pudding… courtesy of your Slow cooker :0).

I love rice pudding and in Germany, we actually have a special rice that is specific for “Milk Rice”. It’s soo good; I’ve yet to find it here and it’s very rare that I find any kind of rice pudding that tastes similar.

Hubby really wanted some rice pudding, he never had any.. so, I just couldn’t deny him the wish .. what if he will never get a chance to eat rice pudding, right….

This was soo simple and OMG.. this was amazing; this was the best rice pudding I’ve ever made with just plain ol’ rice.. it was fantastic. If you love rice pudding or just want to spoil the family with a yummy yet different dessert, this would be an awesome one to make. So Simple and sooo delicious.

This is what you will need:
1 pkg. vanilla cook and serve pudding mix
1 cup cooked white rice
1 cup raisins ( I will leave these out next time and add apples..yummy)
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups half –and- half , or milk

This is how to make this yummy dessert:
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and cover; cook on low 3-4 hours. Serve warm, at room temperature or chilled.

Yet another recipe printed off. Eventually I will try these sweet treats! My dad loves rice pudding (maybe it is the German roots), so may be one to try the next time he visits.

This is not a bad Milchreis recipe , but needs a few adjustments . First at all Germans don’t use Raisins in their rice pudding, we use sugar and cinnamon! But you can always top it with fruits if you desire. A traditional topping would be a cold or warm Kirsch Kompott/ Cherry pie filling. The rice should be round, I use Japanese sweet rice but sushi rice works too. Because I din’t use Raisins and used sweet rice I add it a half cup sugar. It was sweet enough for our tasted but you can always add more if you need it. Guten Appetit!

We use raisins in our rice pudding at home in Germany sometimes.. most the time I do like the cinnamon sugar.. what part are you from? We all have different tricks and recipes… 🙂

Sounds yummy. How easy to make too. No standing and stirring, stirring and standing. Gonna make me some with peaches or fresh off the vine blackberries.
