Scrapbook Friday: How to add writing to your Pictures in Adobe Photoshop Elements 9

by Melanie Roberts

in Scrapbook Tips

I love to use my Adobe Premiere Elements 9 when creating my scrapbooks, I don’t necessary use it for my actual layouts, but I love to create my pictures, change color, add color, remove things, touch up the pictures and my favorite thing is to add fancy writing to my pictures. Did you know that adding writing can be soo simple… Once you are done you can send it to Walmart.com, Snapfish or any other print service and it will look very professional and you spend only the $.15 a picture ( or better if you can find a deal) and you will look like a million bucks…. Like you spend days creating…

Most Photo Editing programs have the same functions, so any program really should work similar to how I’m adding words in mine…

Step 1: Open you picture

Step 2: You need to rotated your picture if you like to write on the side, either left or ride. Click on Image – Rotate – and then choose left or right, depending on where you like to add the writing

Step 3: Choose a color for your writing, I took white

Step 4: Choose the letter style that you like for your project

Step5: Click on the button that has the letter “T”, that button will let you write, after you click the “T” button, click anywhere on your picture, where you would like to write… start writing anything you choose to add to your picture

Step6 : Click Image – Rotated – and move your picture back into the correct position

Look.. this is what your finished picture will look like… so simple, yet will look great in your scrapbooks

Check out some of my Scrapbook pages, where I used this technique in my pictures… doesn’t it look cool and give a statement…?? I love to write on my pictures or objects that I add to my scrapbook, makes it so much more personal.

I was not asked to write this post nor wil I be compensated by using Photoshop Element 9. Just my opinion.

Thanks so much, I love your detailed tutorial. There are so many tools out there that so many of us don’t know about; and if we do, we don’t know how to use them. You have taken out the extra few days of reading and understanding and provided us with a quick easy way to use and knowing yours was a success, assuring us that it can be done.
