All week I have been cooking from this Fix-it and Forget-it Christmas Cookbook: 600 Slow Cooker Holiday Recipes Book; So far all the recipes have been very easy to prepare, very few ingredients and very tasty.
This is the first time I actually reviewed/ used one of the Fix it and Forget it books ( other than the kids cooking book). I must say I really like the book. This Christmas Book has 600 recipes from Appetizers to Snacks, main Dishes, Beverages and even Desserts and Sweets.. all possible in the Crockpot… Amazing to me. You should check them out, they will be your next best friend, too 🙂
Today’s Menu
Pork Chops and stuffing
This is what you need:
1 Box of your favorite Stuffing 1 cup of Chicken Broth ( the recipe called for water, I like chicken stock) 1 can cream of mushroom soup 4+ porkchops  How to make it :- Mix 1 cup of chicken stock ( or water) and your stuffing in your crock pot
- place pork chops on top of stuffing
- pour cream of chicken soup over pork chops ( and stuffing)
- close lid, cook 4 hrs on high 6-7 hours on low
Enjoy your Pork Chops with stuffing.
How did we like it?
We really liked it, the meat was nice and tender, the stuffing flavor went through the meat and just had a wonderful flavor. The one thing I will do different next time, I will add a second can of mushroom soup or an extra cup of chicken stock to get more gravy; other than that it was a wonderful, quick, easy and fairly cheap dinner….
make sure to stop by tomorrow evening for
Hawaiian Chicken

Melanie-
I Googled for a pork chop and stuffing recipe, and yours came up! It was exactly what I wanted , but I wanted to let you know there is a slight error…the recipe list calls for mushroom soup, but the instructions say to pour cream of chicken soup over the chops??? I went with mushroom.
I’ll bet this would be good if you wanted to use chicken thighs instead of pork chops. Then I would use the crem of chicken soup…
Thanks, dd

Thanks for checking out our recipe and letting me know how it turned out.. love to hear when my readers love a recipe I post; WOW.. thanks for the “Bobo”… I had no idea it’s been up for so long and no one said a word… Sorry.. Probably should have been cream of mushroom soup; will have to dig out the original recipe and fix that. Thank you soo much and glad you guys enjoyed it. And there is an idea with the chicken..mhhhh…

Made this yesterday for dinner. Used vegetable stock and creme of chicken soup since that is what I had. Turned out terrific! I was worried because it seemed to easy.

Found you on pinterest and this looks delicious! Quick question. I plan on using a different brand of stuffing and I want to be sure the amount is the same. How many ounces of stuffing was in your box? Thanks for posting this recipe!
Melanie Roberts says
I don’t see why a different stuffing wouldn’t work at all. Soo glad you found us and hope you like the recipe. The brand in the box has 6 oz, but if yours it bigger use a little extra stock to make sure it won’t dry out…. Hope that helps

I just searched Pinterest for a recipe to throw together tomorrow since I’ll be working late and this is perfect! I think I may add extra of both stock and cream of chicken so that it doesn’t dry out if its in an extra hour… I’m a hairdresser and I can never tell exactly when I’ll finish with a client and get home! LOL Excited to try it!!
Melanie Roberts says
I would suggest adding extra liquid… JUST to keep it moist.. hope you like it.. thanks for letting me know …

I was wonder if it is okay to use bone in pork chops?
Melanie Roberts says
I don’t see why not… I always use boneless, but at home my mom uses bone all the time.. Just if they are thin don’t cook them the full amount of time..

I have just now layered this recipe in the crockpot and layered onions, separated into rings, and sautéed fresh mushrooms on top of the stuffing; I used golden mushroom soup. Will let you know tonite how it turns out! I really attempt to use “ingredients on hand”, thus the additions and substitutions.
Melanie Roberts says
Yummm sounds interesting and delicious..love mushroom and onions… can’t wait to hear back… bet it smells good, too

Quick question. Do you use frozen pork chops or defrosted?
Melanie Roberts says

I was wondering if the pork chops could be changed to something else like beef. We don’t eat pork but this recipe really sounds good.
Melanie Roberts says
I’m sure you could use chicken or beef instead, haven’t tried it, but don’t see why not, especially the chicken or turkey would go well with it. You just have to watch the cooking time, but they may not change at all. Would love to hear the outcome if you do try it. If I have time soon I will try it and update the post, too

Just got this assembled in my crockpot. Can’t wait for it to be supper time. It has been so hot so cooking in a crock pot is perfect for this weather. My crockpot is probably my most under used appliance and hoping to change that. Thanks for this recipe.
Melanie Roberts says
Hope it turned out perfect for you.. totally hear ya about being hot AND lately I haven’t used the Crockpot much either, soo need to start up again… Thanks for checking us out.. let me know how it went.. Enjoy

Just found this recipe didn’t have cream of chicken but used creamy potato soup. …looks good
amanda says
I was wondering if u make the stuffing by the directions on the box before you put it in the crockpot?
Melanie Roberts says
Hi Amanda, thanks for asking… I don’t prepare the stuffing at all, it goes into the crockpot and will cook there

Hello! I am trying this for dinner tonight, but I used cheese and broccoli soup instead because it’s what I had on hand. I also used skim milk instead of water and added a splash of beef broth (what I had opened already), just to thin it out a bit. Hopefully it comes out good, I think it will. Everyone in my house loves cheese and broccoli soup, so I always have that on hand.
Melanie Roberts says
I think it will be amazing, love your substitute … Thanks for letting me know and would love to hear how it turns out…
Kcjo79 says
I made this tonight amazing. But is the stuffing supposed to be like gravey? If so I would make mashed potatoes next time. To go with it. Best poor chops u have ever had. I used bone in and boneless. And made some corn. Yummy
Melanie Roberts says
I haven’t made it in a while but the Stuffing wasn’t really like gravy, maybe your pork chops had extra juice and it turned a little “watery”? But mashed potatoes would go with it either way, overtime I make it it turns out different, still good but a different consistency, could be the pork chops, but they are always very good. Glad you liked it. Thanks for letting me know, love hearing from readers
