Sunday Brunch: Kiwi Cooler

by Melanie Roberts

in Brunch Sunday, German, German Recipe, Recipe

Do you like Kiwi? back at home, Kiwi was very affordable and something we always had in the house. I love Kiwi and love to incorporate the fruit into recipes, which isn’t always easy; but I found a recipe on one of my German Cooking sites and it needs Kiwi, I wanted to introduce you to the Kiwi if you haven’t had one, you don’t know what you are missing. I love them.

This is what you need:
2/3 cup of  water
6 Table spoon sugar
2 Table Spoon Lemon zest
2/3 Cup of Lemon Juice
4 Kiwis
Mineral water
Fruit Sorbet – or Ice-cream

This is how to make this:

  1. Take the water, sugar and the lemon Zest, bring to boil, let boil for about 5 min, take off the stove and let cool. Add the Lemon Juice and put into the fridge for about 2 hrs.
  2. Take a Jug, add Ice cubes and fill 1 part Lemon Syrup and 3 parts Mineral water to make Lemonade.
  3. Peel the Kiwi, slice and add 3/4 cup of the Lemonade, puree.
  4. Fill a cup, add ice-cream or sorbet and serve.

Yummm.. and sooo refreshing on a HOT summers day Smile

This recipe sounds lite (if you use sorbet) and delicious. I’ll definitely have to bookmark this and try it with my son!

That’s a wonderful recipe. I love kiwi flavored drinks-especially Arizona strawberry kiwi. So I know this recipe will be delicious when I try it. I can’t wait to try it out.

This would be a great one to make for the kids, especially the picky ones like my grandson who is afraid to try anything. Nutritious and looks yummy!
