Hard to believe but another fun holiday is creeping up on us. Valentines Day is just a few short weeks away and I love to surprise my family with a special treat just because I love them. Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day in your house, too? This year I decided to make it a little extra special and joined a few bloggers in the #CreativeHop to share lots of fun Valentine’s recipe and craft ideas so you can spoil your family and shower them with love, too. Only the best creations are part of this hop and I highly encourage you to check all of the fun ideas out below, you will not be disappointed.
Florida is in the middle of Strawberry season, what better treat to dish up for your loved ones. They are sweet, delicious and red. I love to use fruit that is in season for my recipes and that was just perfect. You could make this Strawberry & Cream parfait with your favorite fresh fruit or fruit of the season as well. It’s so simple but looks elegant and your loved ones will think you slaved over these for days. Our secret, it’s very quick to put together ~ Shhhh… I won’t tell.
Wasn’t this simple? I told you it would be a very simple dessert with lots of flavor that your family will rave about for weeks to come. I made I think 8 parfaits for my family (doubled the recipe above) and totally forgot to eat my dessert that night, I kept eating it while I made it, so the next day I remembered that my dessert was waiting for me, boy was I wrong! My husband the kids ate all of them in the blink of an eye and then had the nerve to tell me they want more… LOL… I was excited that they loved my Strawberry & Cream parfait, but very disappointed that I wasn’t able to indulge in one myself. Lesson learned, I need to make more. Since they are so simple to make it won’t be a problem and I have all the ingredients in the house most of the time already. Next time I will try to switch up the fruit and maybe try it with Mango, Kiwi or Blueberries, I know it will be a hit.
I also love puff pastry and they are so simple to make and if you use a heart cookie cutter you will have little heart puff pastry pillows that can be dipped into your Strawberry & Cream parfaits or eaten just on their own. Isn’t that a fun Valentine’s Day dessert that makes you look like you spend hours in the kitchen slaving over?
What is your favorite fruit that you would include in those parfaits?
Leave me a comment below, I love to hear from my readers.
