In our house reading is a top priority but sometimes it’s hard to find books that really keep the attention of our two boys 8 and 5. Our boys are pretty typical. They love playing video games, being outside and playing baseball so as you can see their both pretty active. When it’s time to settle down for the night and read… sometimes not always on the top of their list.
As parents, we know how important reading is for children so it’s our job to find amazing books that they will enjoy and want to read over and over again. That’s always how we can tell if a books a hit.
When we were asked to review The Giant Book of Giants by Saviour Pirotta(Sterling Publishing) we immediately said yes! The cover is so bright and colorful and what boys don’t like stories about giants? When we received the book we were so impressed. It was big and very sturdy, which is a plus for our boys because they love to turn the pages themselves and hold their books. They really get into their reading and this is a book they could really do that with without us having to worry they were going to destroy it.The book includes 6 stories…
- Jack and the Beanstalk
- Coyote Tricks the Giant
- Momotaro, the Peach Boy
- Finn and the Buggane
- The Curious Giantess
- Sinbad’s Third Voyage
The best part of all for our two boys was the incredible 3-D Giant which was over 4 feet tall! For sure a big plus in the eyes of two little guys. The poster is full of fun giant "facts" and lift the flaps which any child would love. The poster is made of heavy paper and is a great quality. Overall this book and all the extras is an A+ in our book and we would highly recommend it.
