Get your Christmas Gifts started early this year and super simple for the little ones to make;
Here’s what you’ll need…
• 1 box baking soda (about 2 cups)
• 1 cup cornstarch
• 11/2 cups water
• Sauce pan
• Bowl
• Spoon
• Plastic wrap

Here’s how you make it…
1. Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring consistently, until it is too thick to stir with a spoon.
2. Cool for 15 minutes, or until the dough is cool enough to touch. Knead it for about 5 minutes, or until smooth. Keep dough wrapped in plastic.
Once you have molded it, it will take 1-2 days for the clay to dry. The length of time depends on how thick your craft is: If it is a flat ornament, it may only take 1 day, if it is thick it will take much longer. This clay can be painted with either Tempera or acrylic craft paints.

This would be a perfect little gift for my kids to make their grandparents and maybe their teachers. They could even make them for their little cousins. It’s sometimes nice to make or buy little ornaments and attach them to their gifts through the ribbon.

What a wonderful idea! I always love making ornaments. I’ve never tried a recipe like this. Thank you for sharing. I am pinning this one so I don’t forget!

Great ideas for Christmas gifts and by doing it now…you have less stress during the holidays with everything else! I also start writing my Christmas cards beginning of November…if I write 3 a day, I can finish by 1st week of December. It’s all about the planning, right?!?
Absolutely love this I can even use our cookie cutters
thank you!
Is the consistency to thick to use for child’s hand or foot print? Or does anyone know of a recipe for this? Thank you.
I’ve never tried that but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.. it is a “clay” consistency and you put the hands or feet init should stay… interesting idea…
