A few weeks ago I had my trip to Arkansas to attend the #SoFabCon14 Blogger Conference. It was amazing. I was invited by Walmart #FamilyMobile to be their Conference Ambassador and it sure was a lot of fun. I so have to tell you all about it, so be sure to grab a cup of coffee, tea or chocolate and hang out for a bit.
This conference is for Bloggers, beginners as well as us oldies, that have been blogging for some time. Collective Bias was the one putting on the conference and I have been a member of their Blogger team for almost 4 years now and loving every minute of it. The team is amazing and the conference was that much more exciting to me, I was able to meet up with online friends and bloggers in real life. It was AWESOME to say the least.
The 2 day conference was jam packed with amazing Sessions from how to Embrace Google Plus to Grow you blog lead by Jimmie Lanley to S-E-Oh No! A common Sense Guide to Discoverability and fun sessions like You Tube How to with Sarah Rae Vargas, which was such a funny session even if you weren’t into YouTube, this was the place to be. Sarah was hilarious and you just had to be there to see her dynamic, soo much fun and thankful for being their to see this as the #FamilyMobile Ambassador.
We had fun lunch session and learned about Emerging Blogger trends. I loved that lunch session the most; it was a lot of fun hearing from Kim Janocko, Sr. Community Campaign manager at Collective Bias along with some fellow blogger friends like Sara Blake, Brandi Jeter Riley, Alicia Pfeiffer and Kristin Wheeler ~ love these girls!
Another fun and very interesting lunch session was “Brand and Blogger fails”, the really cool part was the interaction us bloggers had with Gina Allgaier, Marketing Director of the Walmart Team and Kraft as well as Karen Doan, Sr. Manager Customer Marketing for Tyson Foods. We learned so much about the companies and what the companies value were, what the team work between Blogger and Company means and so many more things. I just love seeing these people and learning about Tyson and Kraft a little more and actually seeing the entire team in person. It was amazing! Tell me, at what other Blogger Conference do you get to interact with the BIG people from BIG companies face to face? Only at SoFabCon that’s for sure. We heard funny stories from the marketing team of Tyson and Kraft about campaigns that sounded good at the time, may have turned into a flop down the road, or bloggers telling us their favorite ideas to work with companies.
Besides all the fun sessions we also had a lot of networking to do with many many bloggers. I got to meet Sarah Blake and Alicia in person. We had been working on Blogger campaigns many many times in the past and it was just a highlight to meet these girls and hang out. I loved it. That was such a fun part of the entire conference. I meet a lot of new bloggers, made new friends and connections in the 2 days I was there. It’s such a fun atmosphere to finally meet all these girls (and a few guys) that you have known for so long, it’s almost like a big family reunion.
Another fun thing that I really enjoyed was the Brand Salons and one of them of course was the Walmart #FamilyMobile room. They had the SoFabCon Hackers in the room that would help with Blog related questions, computer help or anything techy related, even questions about your #FamilyMobile phone were answered. The fun part was the phone charging station in the middle of the room. Super cool and very convenient.
They also offered fun games and interaction in the Walmart #FamilyMobile room and it was a blast to hang out there. My phone was awesome during the trip and if you followed me on Twitter, Facebook or even Instagram you saw a lot, I mean… A LOT of updates during the conference with lots of pictures, all done with my unlimited, cheap wireless plan from #FamilyMobile. I couldn’t have been happier and with the charging station I didn’t have to worry about running out of battery life at all!
I had an amazing time thanks to #FamilyMobile for sponsoring me for this event and I already know, next year, I will buy my ticket as soon as possible, I don’t want to miss this amazing conference and may run a chance to miss out on amazing speakers, sessions and parties. Yes.. we had a few parties in the evening, too. You should have been there… we had a BLAST!! Thanks #CollectiveBias you guys are THE BEST!!
