What is up with our Sunscreen #wetSkin #CBias

My Toddler is like a fish; if you tell her we are going swimming and even if it’s the bathtub, she is the first in line, cloth off and ready to go. Since the boys weren’t home and the Toddler felt a little sad, missing her bubbas. We decided to have a fun pool day at Mimi’s house. She was all for it!

We grabbed all our stuff and packed our basket with towels, drinks and anything else we might need. Like every time we head out to the pool, I put sunscreen on the Toddler. I’m not sure if I was just in a bad mood, or if the sunscreen was “old” fashion. I got totally mad at the sunscreen. I know, I’m a crazy mom, no other mom would get mad over sunscreen. Winking smile

120_3940120_3942

But let me tell you my story. I grabbed our regular sunscreen and poured it onto the Toddler, and rubbed, and rubbed, and rubbed even more. The more I rubbed, the whiter she got. I had this crazy white stuff all over my hand and couldn’t get it off.

After a good 15 minutes I told hubby “Let’s go.. I’m buying something new at Walmart, this stuff is ridicules.”. Ran onto the PC real quick, because you know me, I will never leave the house without a coupon and I actually found one.

120_3949

Well,  I found a coupon and then some. Did you know that Neutrogena has  Helioplex®  which is specially formulated to work with wet skin? This is a total new technology and I had never heard of. I had to check it out and this is what they have listed on their website.

It instantly cuts through water, creating a broad spectrum protective barrier with every application. When applied to wet skin, ordinary sunblock can whiten and slide off. Neutrogena® Wet Skin Kids promises full strength sun protection even when applied on wet skin.
This product features Helioplex®, a breadth of stabilized sunscreen technologies that delivers superior protection from the sun. To learn more about Helioplex® Technology, click here.

  • Applies to wet or dry skin
  • Sweatproof, Waterproof
  • Oil-free, PABA-free
  • Continuous spray
  • Hypoallergenic

WOW.. what a concept. No other sunscreen could compare. I had to check it out. After all, anything is better than my white paste that is now all over my Toddler for the past 30 minutes now Sad smile.

120_3954120_3956

I grabbed the coupon and out the door we went. Walmart has a HUGE, really a HUGE selection of sunscreen. I had no idea that any store would need 3 1/2 isles full of just sunscreen. So, I spend a few more minutes looking at some of the well known brand and comparing concepts and price, however I kept going back to the Neutrogena wet Skin. The price was very comparable starting at $8.97, and the size was just like any of the others, but I was mesmerized by the fact that I can spray it on while wet!!!  I have to get the Toddler wet to get the white paste off, that is still on her.

120_3965120_3964

I know I can’t wash her sunscreen off and wait 30 min for it to dry to apply new sunscreen and then let her go swim, by that time we would be ready to go home again. I spend a few more minutes walking the store, trying to decide what I want to get. I picked up some fruit and snacks for the Pool day as well as some cheap school supplies for the boys. I ended up back in the Sunscreen isle and decide to give Neutrogena Wet Skin a try. After all, what do I have to loose?

120_3966120_3968

Finally in the checkout lane, our sunscreen and a few other things in hand, we picked the shortest line in hopes to be in and out quickly. Well.. we waited … and waited…. and waited and 15 minutes passed and still in line. One person(!!!!) ahead of us… what in the world. I can not believe the cashier took every single item from the customer and inspected it, read it and talked about it. I appreciate the great costumer service, BUT you are in the Speedy check out line, and it is not your job to read every single label while checking customers out!!! I know, I could have changed lanes, usually if I do, I’m stuck in another line as well, so I stayed put. Finally it was our turn. We took all our stuff and walked to the car. FINALLY time to head to Mimi’s house to jump into the pool.

120_3967

Oh, remember the sunscreen that I put on the toddler, what a good 45 min ( maybe even more) ago? YUP… still white as can be!! Let’s get to Mimi’s house, wash of the “old” sunscreen in the pool so we can check out the new Neutrogena Wet Skin.

120_3977120_3979

It was so easy to spray on, pleasant smell and look…..NO WHITE STUFF!!!!!!! No waiting, the toddler jumped right back into the pool. So excited that she swam on her own for the very first time!!! We are super excited not just for a cool new product but that the Toddler now is a fish as well Smile. We had a blast and all thanks to Neutrogena Wet Skin, you sure saved our pool day. We had so much fun that the Toddler zoncked out minutes after we got out of the pool.

120_3984120_3988120_3990120_3992

So…. this is my Story and I’m sticking to it…..!!!! You can grab your own $2.00 off coupon for Neutrogena Wet Skin and pick up a bottle to try. We would love to hear if you liked it and how it worked for you and your family.

I also have an Intersect Story HERE, be sure to check it out.

Our son much like your daughter is a fish in the water also. No matter how much or how often we put sunscreen on him, he always seemed to be red somewhere at the end of the day! We started using the Neutregena Wet Skin and it is everything it says and more. We love it and it’s the only one we use now! We haven’t seen the slightest burn since we started using it. Best of all I don’t feel like I need to get him out of the pool every 20 minutes to reapply it!

We went to the water park today and I could have really used some Wet Skin…. next time.
