We had a super fun weekend, Popsicle Pool Party and all; it was the last weekend before the kids are heading back to school and the weather was amazing… amazingly HOT as well. We did manage to spend a few hours outside with family and friends to say goodbye to Summer and the kids even had a sleepover. That was fun….
Now we are back to a new week; an amazing week it will be. I’m off work this week, soo excited… BUT … I’m not off at all. I have lots to do this week; each kid has orientation at a different day and we have to go to each, we need to finish up school shopping and get everything ready for Thursday when the boys head back to school on their 6 AM school bus… whaaaa… it will be a crazy week, but I’m excited that school is starting back up, are your kids going back soon, too?
Since I’m home this week, I will be doing all the cooking, I’m sooo excited. Usually when I work at the office I don’t get home till after 6pm, so hubby cooks all the meals that I plan for the week… and he does a fine job, but it’s always a treat when I get time to cook. Usually when I’m cooking we have some German food, so this week that’s what we will be having; per the kids request …. German week.
Monday: Flammkuchen ~ German Pizza kind of …lol
Tuesday: German Hamburger Patties with Potato Leak Gratin
Wednesday: Goulash with rice and cucumber salad
Thursday: Schnitzel with French fries and Paprika sauce
Friday: Beer Brats on a Kaiser roll with Salad and Sauerkraut
Saturday: Pork Roast with Veggies and Bread Dumplings
Sunday: Dinner at Mimi’s house ~ Mom’s night off
There you have it… our German Dinner for the week… the kids are excited and I’m sooo excited that I get to be home all week and cook dinner for them, myself….. if you need more dinner ideas, be sure to head over to I’m an Organizing Junkie she has an entire Meal Plan Linkup, lots of amazing recipes there.
What are you dishing up this week??

I love German week! What a fun idea. We don’t usually have German food, so it is fun to have a little celebration to try new meals.

I’d love to have dinner at your house please…haha. Seriously though, you cook some great things and that pizza looks great. I think when we cook so much ourselves then to see others recipe and what they’ve done, it just sounds and looks so much better than ours.

I love how you attach a cultural theme to your meal plan for the week. I’m sure it makes it easier to plan all of the ingredients out at the grocery story.
