April is full of April Fools… and I love to trick my kids with their food.. My Tween is a really picky eater and he hates anything chicken…or fish… or veggies or… should I go on. I love to trick him. I came across this super cool recipe the other day and just had to try it. It was super easy and as excepted I got this ” MOM… I don’t eat fish and uhhh peas… what… I’ll have Rahmen noodles tonight”. Once I convinced him that this isn’t the ordinary dinner… he loved it.. the Tween, teen and the toddler all got a kick out of this… I bet your little one will, too..
Come back every LunchBox Tuesday throughout April will have some kind of April Fools snack idea…. 🙂
This is what you need:
-
Cornflakes
-
Sugar wafer cookies
-
Peanut butter
-
Green taffy candy (you can use green apple AirHeads)
-
Seedless strawberry jam
This is how simple you create this dish:
-
For the fish sticks, place a couple of handfuls of cornflakes in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Cover 2 sugar wafer cookies with peanut butter, then toss them in the cornflake crumbs to coat.
-
For the peas, tear off and roll small pieces of the taffy candy into balls. If the taffy is too stiff to work with, microwave it for about 6 seconds.
-
For the ketchup, use a fork to stir a few teaspoons of the jam until it’s smooth.
