Ranch Chicken – CrockPot Thursday

September 23, 2010 By Melanie Roberts 3 Comments

This is such an easy and yummy recipe (Be warned it is not low in calories with cream cheese and cream of chicken soup.. BUT SOO GOOD). I don’t remember where I got it from, but  if this is yours let me know so I can give credit.

You need:

1 pack of Chicken ( I only used 2 since my kids don’t eat chicken, but you can stretch it since you will shred it after it is done cooking) (1.99 lb)
1 Pack Ranch Package ($1.00)
1 Can Cream of Chicken soup ($.49)
2 Table Spoons of Butter (melted)
1 Cup of water or Chicken Stock ( try to buy low sodium, the ranch will have enough sodium in it and otherwise it will get too salty)
1 pack of Cream Cheese ( Free at Publix last week)
Spice that you like, I used paprika only, you can add garlic( I was out..)
Rice or Noodles to go with the chicken ( Cook right bef. you are ready to eat) ($.50)

Add everything into your CrockPot, close the lid and put on high for 8 hrs or low for 6 hrs….  sit it and forget it ….. this is what you will look at when it’s done ( sorry I just can’t photograph food…. one day I will get better at it..)

Once you are ready to eat, make rice or noodles and add a salad or Bread and dinner is done….

This meal was $4.00 ( guess rice was $.50 for what we used,  probly even less) for 2 Adults,  Teen, a Toddler and the Tween ate like  a Bird ( by choice.. he does not like chicken)…. So not bad of a meal…
