I haven’t posted my “What did we buy” post in a few weeks, the reason is simple. We didn’t shop at all!!! We have been living on our stockpile and since the sales were really not good and for some part I just had no desire to go shopping we were able to save that money.
I did take a challenge this weekend and decided to go show you that even if you aren’t crazy about coupons or just haven’t gotten the hang or time of couponing you still can save a bundle by just shopping at discount stores.
A lot of people are worried with new coupon policies coming out after TLC aired the new show” Extreme Couponing”. I’m not too worried, it will be okay.
We went to Aldi this weekend and Aldi will not accept coupons, so t show you, that you still can save a bunch without coupons and feed your family I decided to show you what our trip was like.
This is what we bought:

As you can see we bought Potatoes, bread, sugar, Milk all the “normal” stuff, I did splurge on a few German products that you probly wouldn’t have bought but overall normal things to feed the family for the week. We do have a large stockpile and this will create all the dinners for the week.
We spend $43.22 on this trip… and a good $15 was my German stuff that I just had to have like the sausages and the cheese… J
So after all really not a bad trip without coupons.
I guess I was just trying to show that if you don’t have coupons, time for coupons or whatever the reason check out your local discounter whether it be Save a lot, Aldi, Dollar general or any other store it may be a lot cheaper than the BIG grocery chains ….
Happy saving….
