Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music: The Inspirational Stories behind 101 of Your Favorite Country Songs

Have you seen the newest Chicken Soup for the Soul Book? It’s about Country Music; I know not everyone likes country Music, but I was super excited when it came in. I love Country Music and was totally excited to check it out. But before I was able to check out this book, hubby had his hands on it and hollered through the house. Did you know the song “You’re Gonna Miss this by Trace Adkins is a true story? He came up with this song while a handyman was fixing something and he apologized that the kids kept running around and that’s how the song started… too cool or did you know that the song “ Almost Home”  by Craig Morgan was written after a phone conversation with his wife? This book is too cool.. so hubby snagged it and finished the entire book within a few hours.

On the way home from the office I always listen to the local Country Station and sing along to the songs and often I think”wonder how this song came about, is it real?”.

This book is amazing it has 101 of your favorite songs like All American Boy, By the Time I get to Phoenix or Maybe it was Memphis and so many more, some old and some new songs; most of them are songs that I really really like and I loved reading about how the songs came about.

The nice thing each song has about 2-3 pages to read and includes the lyrics of the song; so you can read a song at a time and then put the book down and go on about your day.

I truly enjoyed it and if you are a Country fan or know of someone who would like to read this, this would be a wonderful gift. I loved it and I’m not big on reading; I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who likes Country Music.. find out the story behind the song….that just makes the whole song come to life. I loved it.

    I’d really enjoy this read as I like Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Dixie Chicks, John Denver,etc and some of the older ones as well Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, etc. Wow! As I sat here thinking about country music I realized I tend to like quite a few old and new….more than I realized! Guess that growing up with Hee Haw kind of started me on that path. 😉 This would be awesome to have and wonderful to share with my friend that plays guitar, as well. 🙂
