Cars2 Review

Security was tight as Lightning McQueen rolled into a Theater in Tampa the other day; I was asked to attend a pre-screening and you would have thought you were going through Airport security; no cameras, no phones, every bag was checked and two “Bouncer” greeted us at the door… WOW; did I go to the correct movie?? So.. shhhh don’t tell anyone that I’m telling you about this movie….lol…don’t want the Big Bad guys to find out and get me…lol

I love Cars the original movie and wasn’t too sure what to expect for the second movie. I took hubby and the boys with me, but left the toddler at home, which I was so thankful for, because the movie really isn’t for the little little ones; I would suggest maybe 8 and up.

The movie is funny, cute and just like  a Disney movie charming. The graphics to me were awesome, Cars 3D is THE BOMB!!! Sound was amazing, loved the Soundtrack and can’t wait to get it in store.

The movie itself was about Lightning McQueen, who as we all know is a race car. He came home for the summer to spend time with his best bud “Tow-Mater”; I loved Tow-Mater, of course Larry the Cable Guy has the perfect voice for Tow-Mater and did an amazing job; cracking jokes and pretending to be “dumb”… LOVED IT!!…

However, the movie to me was mainly about Tow-Mater, he was the main character in the movie, being funny and silly and that redneck kind of style that we all know and heard about. Honestly, he acted like a big redneck ( no offense to anyone..lol) , weather it be the race in Italy or the show in China, he sure took the redneck with him.. almost like you can take the car out of the Country, but you can’t take the country out of the car..lol… It was fun.

The movie isn’t anything like the first movie, I compared it kind of like a James Bond movie but with cars… there is the “car” mafia in Italy trying to sabotage the race and two undercover agents are trying to figure out what’s going on, somehow Tow-Mater got in the middle of it all and got hooked up with the undercover agents.. in the end … well… you have to go see the movie.. I won’t tell you what happened in the end….. Smile

Awesome movie, the boys loved it  and wouldn’t stop talking about it. Both, the Tween and Teen said they liked cars2 better than the first. The only thing that bothered me a little, the jokes are more mature, little ones really don’t understand them, that’s why I suggest the movie be 8 and up… other than that, it’s a wonderful movie… lot’s of fun, jokes and craziness going on. Be sure to grab your 3D glasses and head to a  Theater near you on Friday June 24, 2011 when Cars2 starts rolling in…..

Would love to hear your thoughts on the movie… was it what you expected?? Honestly, it wasn’t what I expected  and it took me one night to let is all soak in and for me to say “I really Loved it”. I was a bit disappointed at first, it isn’t anything like the first… BUT once I recapped it all and had a night to sleep on it.. I loved it, it’s not a sequel, it’s a brand new movie, just a #2 …. other than that it’s a brand new movie with lots of fun voices, some familiar some new…

So head to the Theater and see all the fun tow-Mater and Lightning McQueen will have and who they will meet along the way ( Little hint, they are in England at some point.. Queen…lol)…

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car.  But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.  Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer).  Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.  The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.

John Lasseter returns to the driver’s seat to direct this follow-up to his 2006 Golden Globe®-winning “Cars.” “Cars 2” is co-directed by Brad Lewis, producer of the Oscar®-winning film “Ratatouille,” and produced by visual effects industry veteran Denise Ream (associate producer, “Up”; visual effects executive producer, “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”).  The film hits the track on June 24, 2011, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D in select theaters.

I was asked to participate in a pre-screening show and all opinions are 100% my own, no other compensation was nor will be received. My Family received 4tickets to the show to prepare our review.
