Nights are getting longer and days are getting shorter…. I love this time of the year. It’s getting quite comfortable down here in Central Florida and we are spending as much time as we can outside, soaking up the “cool” air.
I also spend some time this weekend preparing for our Germany Trip next summer; lot’s to do and research. Most f you probly don’t know that I’m German, yup.. there, I’ve said it.. that’s my excuse for my bad grammar…lol… I decided to show you guys a few pictures of my Home town called “Kitzingen”. I haven’t been home in over 11 years and can’t wait for this big trip next summer. We will have 4 “short” weeks visiting family and friends and trying to do a lot of sight seeing along the way.
The pictures in this post are all from my hometown….. isn’t it beautiful? Have you been to Germany? What was your favorite part? The food, the scenery or the culture? I actually have a lot of German Culture that I try to incorporate into the blog, from Recipes to Crafts or even Christmas Traditions, go ahead and check it all out.
Can you tell.. I’m getting homesick..lol.. I love showing the kids where I grew up and where my Teen was born and can’t wait to show them in person in a few short month.
Okay, enough dreaming, back to reality for now…. I had a hard time coming up with the meal plan this week… What did you guys come up with? I’m just not motivated at all……
This is after a few hours of trying to make a plan, what I finally decided on to dish up in the Crazy Mom’s house…..

We’re having breakfast for dinner this week, too. We love doing that. I’ve not been to Germany, but I have been to England and Amsterdam. Loved both places, and would love to visit Germany. Have a wonderful trip!

My roots are German, though I’m 4th generation, but I’ve visited Germany twice – once 12 years ago in college and again 4 years ago with my husband. I’d love to go back, though there are many other places on my places-to-see list, I don’t know when that might happen.
A few of the highlights I can think of off the top of my head…
I enjoyed Neuschwanstein Castle, one of those touristy spots that I think is a requirment to visit? But I loved exploring the mountains around it even more. On our last trip, we actually stayed nearby in Austria for a few days. I actually liked Linderhof much more than Neuschwanstein – we spent a day just exploring the grounds.
We stayed in Bacharach for a few days to explore the Rhine region. Unfortunately for me, that trip I was pregnant and not able to sample the wines of the region. But still beautiful views to take in.
On my first trip we made a stop in Trier. I enjoyed it because it was so different than everything else we saw with more of a Roman style than German.
And the Black Forest was another trip, the only stretch we rented a car to explore on my first trip and stayed in Triberg. It was very early spring, so still some snow around to get some great scenery pictures.
