If you have been couponing for any amount of time you have probably had your couponing integrity questioned. A cashier or even a manager tries to question your coupon use. Don’t they know that you worked hard to put together your scenarios, clip every coupon, and get your kids calm enough to shop? Here are a few tips to help you avoid coupon problems when shopping.
Know Your Policy!
Coupon policies change frequently. Making sure that you have the current rules before you walk into the store can save you a great deal of stress at the register. I know of some couponers who take the time to call the store before visiting.
Read The Coupon!
Publix recently changed the wording on their coupons in the Green Flier to limit each coupon to one per person per day. Some stores may let you do multiple transactions but reading the coupon and knowing how your store interprets it is critical to a good shopping experience.
It is also important to read the size exclusions or inclusions. There is nothing that will give you trouble quicker than using a coupon on items, quantities, or sizes that are not included.
Check Dates!
It is important that you check the expiration date on your coupons before using them. A matchup may list a coupon because at the beginning of the sale the coupon was valid but it is important to make sure it is not expired when you go to shop.
Never Photocopy Coupons! This is illegal. Do not do it.
