ICED MOCHA FREEZE Recipe in Time to cool off

June 12, 2012 By Melanie Roberts 2 Comments

EOC Mocha Freeze

If you are anything like me, you need a cold drink to cool you off. It sure is HOT outside, but my wallet is kind of tight.. so a fancy Coffee house is totally out of the question… What’s a girl to do? The next best thing is to bring the Coffee House home…..

ICED MOCHA FREEZE

  1. Low-fat milk, syrup and whipped topping may be substituted.

  • 4 cups freshly brewed coffee, divided
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 ounces chocolate syrup
  • Whipped cream
  • How to make it:
Pour 2 cups of the coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze; place the rest in the refrigerator. Once frozen, place the coffee ice cubes in a blender. Add chilled coffee, milk and chocolate syrup; blend until smooth. Pour into tall glasses and garnish … ENJOY!!!!!

Now wasn’t this simple and a lot easier on your pocket book… you can enjoy one of the Iced Mocha Freeze every day and not break your bank….I’m hocked on coffee, so this will be a great alternative during the HOT Summer month in Florida….

    Did you know?
Coffee accounts for 30% of morning beverage consumption, making it the most popular choice, according to a “Morning Mealscape” study conducted by The NPD Group. With this economy, those morning trips to the coffee shop add up quickly, especially when you’re swapping out hot coffee for iced sooner than usual due to a mild winter and an early start to spring. Iced coffee usually costs at least a quarter more than its hot counterpart.

If you’re like most Americans (86 percent according to the National Coffee Association) you may have taken to brewing at home. Contrary to what some people think, it is possible to make coffee at home without sacrificing great taste, and it will save you a pretty penny. It’s also possible to make a great tasting ICED coffee at home. Eight O’Clock Coffee, recently named a top pick for affordable coffee by Cheapism.com has been around for more than 150 years. Here, they share their secrets for making a great-tasting, affordable iced coffee:

    • For a Quick Fix: Brew your coffee in the morning and stick it in the freezer. In a half hour, when you’re finished getting ready for your day, you’ll have an iced coffee ready and waiting for you.
    • Make Use of That Leftover Coffee: There’s normally a few cups of coffee left at the end of the day from that pot you brewed in the a.m. Instead of dumping it, put it in a container and store it in the fridge. You’ll have iced coffee ready to go at any time.
    • Don’t Get Watered Down: Make coffee ice cubes to use in your iced coffee—you won’t have to worry about your coffee being watered down.
    • Stay Strong: If you are pouring your coffee over regular ice cubes, brew your coffee about 25 percent stronger. When the ice melts, your coffee will still be strong.
    • Mix It Up: Become your own ‘brewista’ and create frozen drinks like the “Eight O’Clock Mocha Freeze.”

    Happy drinking…….
