I always get excited when a box from my favorite publisher “Sterling Publishing” arrives at the door; this time was no different. Once I opened the box a few super cute books like this Fluff and Billy appeared and we couldn’t wait to dig through and read them all. So stay tuned for a bunch more book reviews to come soon.
Meet Fluff and Billy, two of the most irresistible, adorable penguins ever. They’re best friends, and whatever Fluff does, little Billy does too: climb, slide, swim, splash, run, and jump. Together, they have fun in their enchanting polar world–until something happens that rocks their friendship.
“I’m climbing up!” said Fluff.
“I’m climbing up!” said Billy.
“I’m sliding down!” said Fluff.
“I’m sliding down!” said Billy.
Just like in real life you have to work through ups and downs and this is what this book is about in a very kid friendly way; I loved the color full, yet somewhat simple illustrations ( I may be a bit partial, I truly LOVE penguins) and the simple story line; some pages only had a word or two; making it very easy for your preschooler to understand that life isn’t always easy; as well as making it a wonderful book for your early readers to read by themselves as well. Nicola Killen, the author did an amazing job creating a color full book for their young readers.
My 4 year old enjoyed this book very much and has asked to read it over and over; she enjoys looking at the beautiful illustrations on each page, with a very simple color pallet; keeping it simple is what this book is all about.
This book most definitely will be read many more times in our house and we gladly give it two thumbs up; making it a wonderful book for every library to have; this book would also make a wonderful Birthday or Christmas present and can be purchased very easily through Amazon.com or any of your favorite retailer that sells books; this book retails for $14.95.
