Make your own Cranberry Sauce Simple #Recipe

November 28, 2012 By Melanie Roberts 11 Comments

Cranberry Sauce Homemade

I had no idea that making your very own Cranberry Sauce can be this easy. We usually buy the can, you know exactly what Iโ€™m talking about, right? I also see the bags of fresh cranberries in the store all the time; I just never knew how to use them or what to even do with them.

I knew there had to be a way to avoid the caned Cranberry sauce this year and low and behold I found on TV for all things a recipe that I knew I had to try… it turned out AMAZING!!

This is what you need:
1 Bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup Orange juice
1 cup of sugar
Cinnamon and glove spice for taste (not a must)

Thatโ€™s it!!!! You add everything to a small pot and let simmer for like 10 minutes; the cranberries will all pop open and the flavors will all melt together!

That is all it takes to make your very own homemade Cranberry sauce; so next time you want to grab a can, think again and make your own with fresh ingredients and that will have your family asking you to make it over and over again!! I know mine LOVED it…. As a little side note.. I will cut the sugar in 1/2 next time, it was a bit sweet for my taste, but still very tasty and super fast…

I make something like this but I mix a chopped orange, chopped cranberries and sugar together and let it sit. It makes a yummy relish when it is mixed.

I bailed on making this for Thanksgiving, but I’ll definitely be making it for Christmas! Thanks for the photo, that always helps me know if I’m doing it right.
