Trust me; I have been organizing the house for days and no end in sight, but this is by far another favorite organizing tip for me. My fridge, or should I say “my Fridge’s” are always a mess. Spoiled food, things the kids toss in and we never have enough room. We already have 2 Refrigerators and 1 upright freezer in the house, yet we still run out of room. How can a family of 5 run out of room that fast?
I remember when I grew up in Germany, in a household of 4, we had this tiny refrigerator, about the size of a dorm room fridge and we all seemed to do well with it. I now have 10 times the space and I run out of room in no time…. Something is WRONG here.
Last week I mentioned that I strolled the aisles at Wal-Mart and found some fun organization bins for the pantry, while I was there I also found these fun bins with handles that were $3 for 2 of them, so not too bad. I grabbed a set of two not knowing if I would like them in my fridge or how bulky they may be.
So this weekend, I took my garbage bin and tossed out all the old things that we all seem to find in the fridge only on “clean out” days. Who knew Pizza could sit that long in a fridge? What about the empty box of breadsticks.. yogurts? Well, you aren’t alone, trust me. For some reason my kids think the fridge is also the garbage disposal and should handle all the “trash” on it’s own… Lol.. nice try guys.
After a few hours of cleaning and scrubbing the glass and all the other stuff that you clean in the fridge I added the bins and to my surprise really loved them, in the fridge. They will hold soo much food. I have one bin dedicated to chocolate, lol. Yes.. we brought back a lot of chocolate from our Germany trip and it was all over the fridge, now in it’s own bin and loving it. I also have another bin for just yogurts and Jell-O; making it easy to pull out a bin to grab what you like and another bin is dedicated to sandwich meat; that always seems to get lost in the fridge, so now in it’s own open bin and easy accessible, hopefully the kids will eat it now.
Everyone opened the fridge 3-4 times before they said “Wow…Mom, did you buy a new fridge”… they loved the new organization in the fridge and I love that we finally have a system that will hopefully keep the fridge in order and clean. Making it a lot easier to see what’s on hand and what we need to get.
Do you have some easy organization tips? Would love to hear them.
No compensation was nor will be received; no one asked me to write about the product; all opinions are 100% my own and we LOVE it!!!

I’m the kind of person who believes that everything has a place even down to the last paper clip so to speak. So, I really love this idea. I was thinking that you could also use one of those bins for items that you know will expire very soon like yogurt, salad dressing, cheese, leftovers, etc. That way you know you need to use them up first before anything else resulting in less waste. : )

What an awesome idea! I’m going to copy because my husband complains that I am sometimes messy. I want to see the look on his face when he opens an organized fridge!

These are just what I need for my fridge. There are never enough drawers and even then some items get pushed to the back and not seen until “clean out” day.
