Let’s dish up some German dinner ideas #Recipe

German Dinner roundup #Recipe

Over and over I have friends ask me for my favorite German Dinner ideas, I have some on the blog and some that I have on my Pinterest, so I thought it would be a great idea to put together a list of my favorite dishes on one blog post with easy access to the recipe. That makes it easier to find things and you can see everything on one page…. Are you ready to cook some Deutsche Küche?

German Goulash Crock Pot dinner

German Goulash is a favorite in our home. It is totally different then American Goulash and most people, at least here in Florida, have never heard of the German Goulash until I mention it. It’s super simple and can be cooked in the crockpot if you have time, if not of course you can cook it on the stove and brown the meat, add your sauce and dish up. I actually have two varieties, they are similar just a little different depending on your taste, be sure to visit the German Goulash and my Hungarian Goulash.

Pasta Salad – My German pasta Salad is always a hit a cookouts and perfect for the Summer month. It can be dished up cold or warm and takes no time to prepare. The entire family will enjoy it and it’s something different. Give it a try and let me know how you guys liked it.

German Rouladen Dinner

Rouladen is another very popular dish in Germany as well as with my Family. It’s a Beef dish, you roll sauerkraut with pickles and mustard up in the meat and brown it; it can be cooked on the stove as well as the Crockpot and the flavors together are amazing. We usually serve it with Pasta, potatoes or Spatzle.

German Spatzle

Spatzle is a popular side dish instead of pasta or potatoes; Spatzle are simple to make at home and are super yummy. We make them with a lot of different dinners like roasts, Rouladen and even the Goulash. Anything that has a gravy is a go for Spatzle. Give them a try and let me know how they turned out for you. Totally Bavarian, too.

German-Scrambled-Pancakes_thumb

Scrambled Pancakes are the most requested dish in our house. You can eat them for breakfast, in Germany we also like to dish them up for lunch and even dinner. Simple to make, but the Scramble Pancakes are totally different then what you call Pancakes in the US. You have to try them, they are fluffy and just delicious, yet take no time at all to make and dish up.

These are just a few of our favorite dishes, be sure to check out my Pinterest board for many more and my German Corner on the Blog
Guten appetit …

My husband had Goulash when he went to Budapest and raved about it. I’ll have to surprise him with this German Goulash and see what he thinks. I bet that it will make his day that I found this recipe to make a special dinner for him, so thank you!!

Can’t get Bryan to move to Florida. Maybe we can compromise and I can move to the border and you can move closer to the bordor too. 🙂

I really enjoyed reading this – I am fascinated by “Local cuisine” and the food traditions in different countries. Do you ever make Käsekuchen? My fiance’s great-grandparents were German and it’s a traditional dish in their family that his grandma still makes.
