Getting kids back into their own bed with Glow Pets #Review

Glow Pets Review

Do you have little ones that just don’t want to sleep in their own bed? I know my princess for years kept telling me she was scared in her room. We did everything we could to get her comfy and finally a few weeks ago, we managed to keep her in her own bed all night and it has given all of us a better night, that’s for sure.

I wanted to share a few of our tips on how we finally got her to sleep in her room and hopefully can help the one or other tired parent out.

Sleeping in your own bed isn’t always easy….5 tips to keep you on track

1.  Get some light: Yes, light was a big thing with my little one. She was scared of the dark and no matter what light we found she didn’t like it. We finally got her one of the Glow Pets and that really did the trick. The light wasn’t bright, but gloomy enough for her to feel comfortable. The pets also serve as a cuddle buddy and a pillow, giving her extra security. The best part, after about 20 minutes the light will shut off, so you don’t have to worry about batteries running all night long.

2. Turn on the sounds: Another big help for us was to turn on a CD on a low setting so she could hear it and focus on the sounds while falling asleep, that has worked well, too. She gets to pick the CD each night and then listens to it while in bed. She is out in no time.

3. Get a routine going: That is also very important. Get a routine going that you do every night; get a shower, change into PJ’s and cuddle for a few minutes before bed has worked well for us and once she knew the routine she was fine and no fuzz at Bedtime since.

4. Spend only a few minutes: I used to spend hours sitting in her room rubbing her back and telling her to sleep; we changed that and now I will stay about 5 minutes, rubbing her back and giving her kisses. She knows that and won’t cry for more. We sometimes both listen to the music or I tell her a quick story, but in any event I want her quiet, calm and resting; preparing for the night.

5. Read a book together: We also read a book before bedtime, getting her ready for reading and eventually once she is old enough she will get reading time before bed, like 20 minutes or so, but I’m trying to prepare her for her reading and that will keep her on task.

There you have a few of our tips, these have worked for our Princess over the last few weeks, some may work well with your little one, some may not, but that gives you an idea on how to get a good bedtime routine in.

we love Glow Pets they are so soft and cuddly

I also mentioned the Glow Pets earlier, you’ve seen them around at Walmart, online commercials and what not. I’ve seen them but never knew if it’s just another novelty that the kids have to have or if it really would be a good product to have for bedtime.

I can honestly say, the Glow Pet played a BIG role in keeping our princess in her bed. She loved her Glow Pet the minute it arrived and unlike other glow products that we have tried in the past, the entire pet is soft and comfy, can be laid on and used as a pillow. That was a big thing with my princess, she loved it; she could cuddle with her Penguin before bed and after about 20 minutes the light would turn off on it’s own. If she wasn’t asleep, there is a easy button for little ones to turn it back on for another 20 minutes.

We really like our Glow Pet, now let me change that, we LOVE our Glow Pet and thanks to the Glow Pets has helped us get a bedtime routine going in no time and we are Back to school with a smile.

There are 8 fun characters to choose from and all have a very unique color pallet, but all are just super comfy and soft and ready to cuddle with your little ones at bedtime.

What a wonderful way to ease them into being on their own and the 20 minute time is about perfect, I think. Plus the fact it shuts off automatically is brilliant.
