Bring Crescent Bites with a surprise for your next #GameDayBites Tailgating and you will be the hit of the party #Dessert

Ever got invited to a Tailgate Party last minute, because hubby didn’t tell you about it weeks ago? Well… Yeah, that’s how it goes at our house, too. Last Sunday of course was just like that. We usually bring a snack to any Tailgating, but with about 30 minutes before we had to be there; preparing chicken wings or a dip really wasn’t in the picture. I checked my cupboards and found a few items that I bought at my last Walmart shopping trip. Little did I know at the time that they all would end up in one recipe.

My Walmart had a lot of new byte size candy and when I saw the Snickers and Milky Way I grabbed a few bags for the kids to snack on during the day; they looked great and I could use just a small amount to satisfy their sweet tooth; I loved the idea so in the cart they went. I also got a few other things that I thought we needed for breakfast, fruit and veggies and the rest of my weekly shopping list.

So, when the call came in that we have 30 minutes before we had to be at a friend’s house I opened up my cupboards, franticly looking for something I could create. The Milky Way kind of fell into my arms and screamed “Make a dessert”. Who in the world brings a dessert to a tailgate party? Well… This mom. Check out what I threw together in a matter of minutes and how simple it was. Trust me, you will have to bring those tasty treats for every Tailgate party from now on, you will be in charge of dessert… that’s how it turned out for us. Everyone LOVED the Crescent bites with a surprise and fruit Dip.

Crescent Bites with a Sweet Surprise and Fruit Dip

Bring Crescent Bites with a surprise for your next #GameDayBites Tailgating and you will be the hit of the party #Dessert

  • 1 bag of Milky Way or Snickers bites
  • 2 cans of crescent rolls ~Will make 32 bites
  • honey or  powder sugar
  • fruit of your choice, pureed ~ I had raspberries and kiwi in the kitchen (Strawberries would be great, too)

That’s it.. simple as that… a few ingredients with BIG taste… and this is how to make the
Crescent Bites with a Sweet Surprise and Fruit Dip

Bring Crescent Bites with a surprise for your next #GameDayBites Tailgating and you will be the hit of the party #Dessert

1. Roll out the crescent dough; keep the triangles intact and leave two triangles together, forming a square; pinch the seems together and cut into 4 pieces.

2. Place one Snickers or Milky Way bite on each dough slice

3. Wrap them all up and form into a ball; super simple and either way you wrap them is fine

4. Pre-heat oven to 350F and place all your Crescent Bytes into the oven; for about 8-12 minutes (depending on your oven ~ keep an eye on it).

5. Puree your fruit while the Crescent Bytes are in the oven and place in different containers

Simple as that; the Crescent Bite with a sweet surprise was a big hit at our Tailgate Party and everyone asked for seconds. The dipping sauces are a must; you always dip something at a Tailgate Party and they complimented the sweet chocolate perfectly. I also drizzled honey on top of the Crescent Bytes.

At first glance, I totally thought those sauces were tomatillo salsa and red sauce! 😉 This is such a creative idea; I never would have thought to turn a crescent roll into a fun dessert like that. My husband often forgets to tell me about events like this, too, so I totally identify. Maybe I’ll train him in someday… LOL.
