Well, last night was the night where all the kids cleaned their shoes and put them outside the door… do you know what that means? In Germany on December 6th all the little boys and girls get a visit from St. Nikolaus. St. Nikolaus is a Christmas tradition. In Germany St. Nikolaus doesn’t come on Christmas Eve, that;s the Christmas Angels job, St. Nikolaus appears on the 6th and brings goodies for the good boys and girls and leaves switches for the bad ones. A lot of German families hire college students to dress up as St. Nikolaus to come to the house to surprise or put a little fear into the little ones, especially when St. Nikolaus opens his golden book and knows ALL the good and bad things about you… YEAH, that was always a little scary, but we loved getting the candy. Be sure to visit my St. Nikolaus page to learn more about our tradition and of course I keep it alive with my kids and they love it.
This year our Elf Becky made sure that St. Nikolaus stops by and when the kids woke up in the morning they all found their shoes full of goodies and gifts, courtesy of our amazing Elf Becky and Rudolph, who helped out St. Nikolaus tremendous in locating us.
Do you celebrate St. Nikolaus Day??
Do you have an Elf visit this year, too?? Would love to hear what your Elf has been up to….Don’t forget to come back tomorrow, you never know what this 427 428 year “young” Elf & her companion Rudolph will get into…. Will they find a different hiding spot or maybe enjoy some family time.. no one knows…. You can check out all the Adventures Elfcapades HERE in case you have missed some of them or on our Pinterest board

I love your Elf. We do not celebrate St. Nikolaus Day or have an Elf on the Shelf but it looks like fun.

How wonderful to put your shoes out and everyone got some goodies! I want an Elf like yours that puts out wonderful treats in every pair of shoes. I should have done this on St. Nikolaus day!
