It’s spring time and we all know how excited everyone is to kick off the boots put some short and flip flops on and head outside. Even my fur babies love the warm weather. While the fur babies hang out outside and get a lot of exercise, I spend a lot of time thinking about the right nutrition with a formula right for your dog.

I know, I’m this crazy mom that worries about everything the kids eat as well as the dogs, what can I say. We recently got a brand new PetSmart in our town and can you say “Score”? I think I should move into their store, I’m there 3 days out of the week to pick up dog food, toys, bones and even have a chat with the vegetarian on staff, yeah it’s pretty awesome. You should check it out if you are close to one, you will love it.

Nutrition is very important and we saw a great performance with the Purina® Pro Plan® in all three of our dogs. According to my peanut gallery it has a great taste, they gobble it all up and can’t wait for their next feeding. I love the fact that Purina® Pro Plan® has No added artificial colors or flavors and 100% proudly produced at our U.S. Facilities!

My dogs are my babies and they are my #ProPlanPet for sure

We currently feed Purina® Pro Plan® Focus and I love that the first three ingredients are easy to pronounce and understand. In our Pro Plan Focus bag the first three ingredients are Chicken, brewer’s rice, and whole grain wheat. Super easy to understand, don’t you think? But there are many different options available even grain free.

My Beagle is my #ProPlanPet do you have one too

Now that we have all our pet’s nutrition covered and they are ready to hang out outside to get some exercise going, I thought it would be a great idea to share my top 5 list of things to watch out for outside to keep your pets healthy this spring season.

My dogs are a #ProPlanPet

5 Things you need to watch out for during spring to keep your pets happy and healthy

  1. Keep any pesticide and fertilizers out of reach of your pet. They may mistake them for food. The best way is to lock them up in a shed and none of your pets have access. You don’t want to accidently poison your baby.
  2. If you spray for pesticides or weeds, be sure to keep your fur babies inside the house for a few hours till the area is dry. Remember they walk with their paws on the grass and could potentially track the poison around and may lick it off their paws.
  3. Plant pet safe flowers, shrubs or bushes; some plants can be dangerous to your pets. Some may be very pretty and attractive to a point where your pet may chew on them, a lot of times they can be very poisonous to your pet’s health and should not be planted around pets. Do your homework ahead of time and see what plants could be harmful and decided on something different. We all love our babies, so keep them safe.
  4. Keep lots of fresh water outside for your fur babies to stay hydrated. Remember they spend almost all winter inside the house and now with the sun they need lots of extra fluids, provide a clean dish with lots of fresh water at any time.
  5. Check your yard often for debris, branches or any other kind of danger that could be harmful to your pet. A lot of times branches brake off the tree or bushes and could poke your dog in the eye, causing a very painful eye injury that sometimes takes days or even weeks to notice or make sure that no glass container was left in the yard and could potentially cut your dog’s paws while walking in the shattered glass.

We all love our fur babies and want them to be safe this spring. Enjoy them as long as you can and make this the best spring yet.

I love the tip to be careful what you plant in your yard, that is so true! Some pretty flowers can be very dangerous if chewed on! #client
