My Teen finished his freshman year in college and I’m now preparing to send him off for his Sophomore year. It’s hard to believe how fast time is flying by and he is already a Sophomore. But since classes start sooner than expected and he will leave soon I decided to head to Walmart and make a list of 5 must have items for my college Sophomore to make me feel at ease knowing he is prepared this semester.
I know it’s not always easy as a mom of a college Sophomore to make sure they eat right, we all have been there and know that all good eating habits that your tried to instill are totally out the window, once mom is gone everything is fair game, but I still can control a little bit on how to keep him safe while away from home. I know, the clean freak in me just can’t let go.
My 5 must haves for sending my Sophomore off to college this fall.
-
Cleaning Supplies: YES… You knew that would come, this clean freak wouldn’t send the kids out of the house without any bleach or sponge, yes.. fill your Walmart shopping cart with lots of cleaning supplies from a broom to a dust pan, if they will use them who knows but you will feel much better knowing they have all the cleaning supplies they need.
-
Snacks: Well, I did tell you we can’t control what they eat, but we do know they will eat snacks, stock up. Buy lots of their favorite snacks and package them in a plastic storage container, trust me they will love it once Mom isn’t around.
-
Toiletries: From body wash to toothbrush and even a few packages of Schick® Disposable Razors should be in the shower kit. My Kids spend hours in the bathroom shaving and getting ready, why would it be any different in the dorm room? So load them up with lots of the things they need. There is also a great Buy One Get One Free Coupon.
-
Towels & Blankets: Well, these are essentials so be sure to stock up, I saw my local Walmart had awesome deals for the Towels and blankets the other day, most n rollback, so be sure to grab the deals and stock up to keep your College teen comfy.
-
Socks & Underwear: Well… yes…you really think your college kid will buy it? Come on… grab some while you are shopping at Walmart and make their day (and yours…LOL).
There you have a few of the items that are on my must buy list for my college Sophomore this year to send him off to college. I know there are probably a lot of things that I missed, the nice thing I can always run back to Walmart to get them before he leaves or he can run by his nearest Walmart once he gets to his dorm, there is always one around and he will always get the best deal.
