I love to decorate and this is the first season that is my favorite this year, Fall! I love Fall, Fall is just awesome. The most exciting part about Fall is the cooler weather, I can not wait!! It has been a hot summer down here in Central Florida and a wet one to boot. I’m counting down the days when the weatherman tells us the cooler temps are knocking at our door.

Usually September 1st also means I can start to decorate the house. When September 1st rolled around the other day I called my husband over and he already knew that I wanted him to drag down all my Fall decor, he quickly made a suggestion to decorate after October 15 for Fall, he decided that Fall won’t start till then so might as well wait. Ahhmm.. Hello, does he not know who he married? Really? Not decorate till mid October? What planned is he from? I’ve dreamed of September 1st all year long and it finally arrived and it’s time to decorate, like it or not!

So, since I couldn’t convince him just yet to pull down all my pumpkins and Fall decor, I decided to drag him to Walmart to share that Fall indeed has arrived and well, I bought a bunch of Fall decor so I still can get started at the house. Yeah, who has the upper hand in our house? LOL.

Walking through the store I looked for fun decor that I can use for Fall and repurpose for Christmas or any other occasions that needs decorating, I love to decorate I did tell you that right? I found a few glass bottles that looked super cute and could be used for flower vase, drink jars or whatever you like and while walking through the home and candle section I found American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand products. OMG… I thought I died and went to heaven, right there in Walmart. I love the American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand product collection and they are very affordable, the 4oz Small Tumbler Candles was $4.95, the 12oz Medium Apothecary Jar Candles was $10.93 and the Fragrance Beads were $3.43.

I knew the candles would be awesome on my Fall table, we don’t have a mantel in the house and I always use a side table to decorate for Fall. Well, I finished my shopping trip and couldn’t wait to get home to start decorating.

A few tips on how to decorate for Fall:

1. You can never have too many pumpkins, pick up large, small and all kind of pumpkins, this is the season for pumpkins show them off.
2. Everything from orange/red to brown and yellow will be a hit in your Fall decor
3. Use natural products like corn, rice and beans to decorate for Fall around your home
4. Don’t limit your decorating fantasy to your living room mantel, you can decorate the kitchen, tables, living rooms even front porch.
5. You can never decorate too much, so decorate everything!!!!

These are a few of my Fall decorating tips and now I’ll share one more DIY idea that is simple and will be a highlight on your mantel or table, budget friendly and can be changed up for every season.

Make your own Candle Topiary

This is what you need:

• 3 Glass jars or decorative bottles
• Fillers like Fall colored candy or rice, beans, dried corn
• 3 wooden coasters
• 2 small American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand
• 1 large American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand

This is how to make it:

Put fillers into your glass jar/bottle; I had the kids sort my chocolate by colors. Lay your wooden coasters on top of the glass jar/bottles and place the American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand candle on top of the jar; if you buy different size American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand jars you will get a different height look. Super easy.

Now you are ready to decorate. Add all your favorite Fall colors, leaves, flowers and pumpkins. I love candles in the Fall and the American Home™ by Yankee Candle®  brand product collection is perfect for your Fall makeover. Now wasn’t this easy?
