I’m a HUGE cloth diaper fan, when my toddler was just born I don’t think anyone could have talked me into cloth diapers. I would have given you that look that.. you know what… no idea why and what made me change. When my toddler was 2 month old I came across Fuzzi Bunz and started the math, cloth diapers are just like regular diapers, but way cuter and you toss them in the wash… okay well BUT they are expensive.. or so I thought. Check this out:
1 pack of diapers for size 2 runs $45.00 for 214 about 22 cents per diaper on Diapers.com, you use about 6-8 diapers a day for 2 1/2 years till the average toddler potty trains, prize will go up or down a bit I’m sure, but this is just a quick math lesson…
Okay so you need to use diapers for about 900 days at 7 diapers a day you will be looking at $1386 that you spend on diapers over the 2 1/2 years ( give or take a few $$ if you find a super sale, coupons … etc… )
With cloth diapers you buy a set of 12-18 ( I had 25 and LOVED IT!!!) that will cost you about $216.00 for the entire 2 1/2 years your little one is in diapers !!!!! now you tell me….
$1,386 for disposable diapers or $216.00 for cloth diapers for 2 1/2 years and possible more babies down the line??
I can honestly say cloth was one of the BEST decisions that I have ever made and every mommy that has seen our diapers loved them and converted to Cloth…!!! You eliminate the need for diaper rash lotion, the midnight run to Walgreens cause you ran out of diapers and you will save a TON of money that you can invest in your little ones college fund….
P.s. did I mention that after your little one Potty trains you can sell your cloth diapers and get about 50% – 75% back ….:-)
