Have you done your Back to School shopping yet? I know I feel like I spend days at the store lately if it’s not for one kids it’s for the other or one always comes up with things they still need. Will it ever end?
While taking all 3 kids to the store the other day (again for like the 6th time) I decided to make it a little fun for them and send them on a scavenger hunt looking for Box Tops items and to our surprise there are literally hundreds of products with Box Tops.
I’ve talked about Box Tops many many times over the last few years and it’s something I’m very passionate about, not only are the Box Tops on products that we regularly use in our home like Go-Gurt, Old El Paso Taco Seasoning, shells and sauces to paper goods.
You could really buy everything from Breakfast, lunch and dinner items and all have a Box Top, did you know that? I was fortuned a few years ago I was able to attend the Box Top University at General Mills and learned a lot. A lot of information that I never knew and really never ever thought about.
A few things that still stand out to this day and impress me with the Box Top program are:
-
Every Box Tops is worth $0.10 for your child’s school
-
Box Tops is one of America’s largest school earnings loyalty programs.
-
Over 80,000 k-8 schools participate, is your school? If not, it’s easy to get involved check with your School they will be able to help you and you can be a coordinator if you like
-
Schools can use Box Tops cash to buy whatever they need. That’s right WHATEVER they need
-
Box Tops for Education has contributed over $525 million to participating schools since the launch of the program in 1996. ~ Very impressive
These are just a few of the many cool facts that Box Tops are awesome and I wanted to share with all of you whether you are a Mom, a dad, Grandparent even Aunt and Uncle, no kids, no problem you can donate your Box Tops to “ANY” school, so if you have friends in a different state, just mail the Box Tops to them and they can turn them in at their school. Simple as that.
Our granny was a big collector, the kids loved going to her house looking for the Box Tops and she was very diligent about buying as many items as possible every month with Box Tops, she loved looking for the products that carry extra box tops and always got very excited when she could hand them to the kids. Unfortunately our granny passed away a few weeks ago, it’s now up to me to keep the kids expectations alive.
Double Box Tops or extra Box Tops are pretty amazing, currently General Mills has a huge list of products from Big G Cereal, Nature Valley Granola Bars, Fiber One, Betty Crocker Fruit Shapes, Betty Crocker Potatoes, Old El Paso just to name a few, they are currently marked with 5 (!!! YES … 5) Box Tops for your school. Walmart has all the specially marked boxes and packaging in their regular aisle, easily to be found and picked up.
Just think one package of Betty Crocker Fruit snacks will give back to your school $.50! How awesome is that? Your school and teachers will love you for that, since this is a limited time offer, be sure to stock up and turn those Box Tops in as soon as you are ready. In my house I barely bring the shopping bags in and the kids already try to cut them out. Glad they are so dedicated, but totally drives me crazy… In a good way, it is for an amazing cause after all!
So head out to Walmart, grab your scissors and come back to my blog in the next few days, I’ll be sharing a fun collection idea how to keep your box tops neatly and in one place so they will never be lost, or you could make one for the teachers in your life to have them collect all the Box Tops from the kids this year and never miss one.
You will love it, it’s a simple idea, trust me. Just come back in a few days and I’ll share it. Till then start collecting as many Box Tops as you can and leave me a comment below what your favorite product is that includes Box Tops, would love to hear all about it.
