Everyone knows the story of Snow White, but do you also know that this wonderful Story wasn’t Disney’s creation? This story was actually written by the Brothers Grimm, who are from Germany. Growing up in Germany I heard of the Brothers Grimm and their stories many many times and to be honest the “real” story about Snow White isn’t quit like the Disney version. I love the original and when I was asked to review this book “Snow White” A Tale from Brothers Grimm and Illustrated by Charles Santore, I just had to accept and check out the book.

The Story about Snow White is beautifully illustrated in this book. The Story isn’t written in a “baby” like style, it is a very beautiful written story translated from the original version. The pictures are beautiful, Charles Santore did a wonderful job. Every character has an actual human like face; so each dwarf of the seven dwarfs has a real face and Snow White is a pretty as she can be. It makes the story more real with my little ones. My Toddler asked me over and over to read it to her, she loved it. We had laughs in-between the movie, we had some sad parts, where my Toddler said “oh no, what next” and other parts in the story we both scared each other.. it was a lot of fun reading this book with my Toddler and it brought back a lot of childhood memories from when I was little and my mom read the HUGE Brother Grimm’s Book that I had when I was little.
I’m excited that someone took this wonderful story and Illustrated it in a real life version. This book will bring lots of memories to your little one and will be a treasure to hand down in the family for everyone to enjoy. Another thing I really enjoyed was the Bookmark ribbon, I have not seen that feature in books for a long time. Loved it, wish every book would have that.

The Inside of the book reads:
When magic mirror tells a proud queen that her stepdaughter Snow White is even fairer than she is, the jealous woman flies into a rage, vowing to get rid of the young girl for good. But the queen is thwarted when a huntsman disobeys her orders and spares Snow White’s life. Running into the woods, Snow White discovers a little house and is befriended by its seven small inhabitants. All is well until the queen learns that she has been deceived and she decides to deal with Snow White once and for all. Young readers will delight in this beautifully illustrated version of the Grimm Brothers’ enchanting and timeless fairy tale, retold from the original edition.
