Do you love watching Food Network as much as I do? What is your favorite show? I’m kind of hooked on Chopped lately and I DVR all the shows and binge watch them on the weekend. Every weekend I think how awesome it must be to participate in the challenge. My mind keeps wandering and dreaming that I was one of the contestant.
To my surprise I got a challenge in my e-mail the other day asking to be part of an Chopped at Home challenge and boy was I excited, I was even more excited to find out that anyone can participate, so all my fellow readers, friends and family members grab your apron. I’m challenging you to create a delicious meal for your family and sharing it with the entire nation. Are you up for the challenge?
Here are the ingredients from the secret “basket” and the way the meal needs to be cooked for this leg of the challenge: ~ We are grilling!!!!
-
Sargento® Chef Blends 4 State Cheddar
-
Pork tenderloin,
-
Cherry or grape tomatoes
-
Broccoli
Are you ready to accept the challenge? I can’t wait all the amazing dinner ideas you all will create. I accepted the challenge and created a delicious meal for my family. It was so easy and I loved the fresh ingredients and Sargento cheese is a staple in our home. We use cheese in a lot of dishes so this was no brainer. I did not try the Chef Blends 4 State Cheddar before, so I was excited for that. Did you know that Sargento is available in 30 versatile varieties, unique blends and distinct cuts? Sargento Shredded Cheese is always cut from blocks of 100% real, natural cheese. That’s my kind of ingredient, bring it on!
A few minutes to decide what I will dish up and I set my timer, just like they do on the TV show; I ran through my house and grabbed all the ingredients to make my Broccoli & Fire Grilled Tomato Pesto stuffed Pork Tenderloin. I will serve it with baby potatoes. Simple, right? Check out my recipe below, it sounds fancy and difficult to make but trust me it was very easy and very flavorful.
I loved the challenge and I think I passed with bravura, my husband loved the different flavors and the roasted tomatoes along with the tenderloin, all grilled outside without heating up the kitchen, what more do you want on a hot summer day? It was perfect and gave me a little glimpse of how being on the TV show would be. Granted it wasn’t as glamorous in my kitchen and I didn’t have the judges, but I think I did pretty darn well and after all my family is a much tougher judge.
So, put on your thinking cap, accept my challenge and submit your recipe to FoodNetwork.com/ChoppedChallenge for the chance to win $5,000 and a trip to New York City to compete in a televised Chopped cooking challenge for a $10,000 grand prize. If you win, I’m hoping for a shout out!
I’m exhausted, kitchen is clean, grill is cooling and while my food is settling I’m watching another episode of Chopped, so excuse me while I’m back to dreaming. Oh, don’t forget to leave me a comment on how you liked my recipe.
