Capri Sun provided Pam’s travel expenses to New York for the event that she is writing about. The thoughts and opinions expressed in this blog post are my own.
My kids have been Capri Sun fans since they first discovered the “cool kid sized pouch that tasted good.” I was a fan too since each Capri Sun allowed my children to have a drink they enjoyed while giving me the peace of mind of knowing they were receiving 25% less sugar than leading juice drinks.* What I didn’t know, until I attended a round table discussion with the directors and scientists involved in the development of Capri Sun, was how much they took the advice of moms!

We were the first to get the latest scoop on Capri Sun’s newest development and I want to share it with you. It’s the Capri Sun clear bottom pouch that allows you to see the goodness in the pouches. I was shocked to see Capri Sun is clear! They use no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives so all I could see was the natural goodness, including small pieces of fruits and vegetables.
I got the lowdown on the making of Capri Sun while touring the factory and have to share some fun facts. Capri Sun was first developed in Germany, where it is known as “Capri-Sonne”. The 100% juice variety one sounds nice. I think it is very nice to not have any additives. And I would be MUCH MORE likely to buy them if they were gmo-free certified! 🙂 I mention that because I know they keep up with what the consumers want, especially by way of reviews and responses. That’s really great that they came up with the clear bottom pouch. I’m starting to think every juice box company should do that. I’ve seen so many scary pictures of what goes on inside juice boxes and pouches…yuck! Now that they are clear, more moms feel better about giving these juices to their kids.

My sons use to love Capri Sun when they were young and taking lunches to school. It was their favorite go to drink. I think the clear bottoms is a great idea and I am impressed that each pouch provides ¾ cup fruit juice.
