Clean up your kitchen and create a #DIY magnet spice corner and fall in love with LabelWorks

Clean up your kitchen and create a #DIY magnet spice corner and fall in love with LabelWorks

My kitchen is fairly small and I need to make the most of it as much as I can,so sometimes I have to come up with ideas that my husband could only dream off. He always rolls his eyes when I bring measuring  tape and glue gun or hot glue into the kitchen cause he knows another kitchen makeover is in the works. Most of the time it works out, I’m not gonna lie to you, sometimes it doesn’t. The times it does it ends up on the blog though and you can benefit from my splendid ideas. I know, you can thank me later Smile.

A few weeks ago, I was mailed this nifty little Epson LabelWorks LW-600P Printer and I fell in love, not bigger then my hand, the smallest and lightweight printer on the market and it will print from my PC as well as from my iPhone (or Smartphones/tablets) via Bluetooth connectivity and can be operated by AC adaptor or 6 AA batteries (not included).

I was ready to label the entire house including the kids and the dogs, finally I ran out of fabric labels, the kids shoes had all their labels, just in case a 9th grader would take my High Schooler’s shoes (hey, I was label happy, what can I say), my Teen was sent off to college with his name in his book bag (What??  it paid off when the security office called the other day that he had left it in the library, now your looking..haha..??) and my princess had all her shirts, skirts, pants and even underwear with cute labels that had her name on them.

No more lost school outfits in our house, but mh… there were only so many clothes I could label, the dogs of course had none and well, I wasn’t gonna go to the office with my name in the blouse, darn it, I had two options, adopt another kid or find different labels, luckily for me Epson has an entire line of labels not only for fabric, they also have glow-in-the-dark (ohhh these may be fun, I may have to get these next.. I can see it now.. hahah.. ), metallic reflective and even ribbons, clear and the list goes on.

You probably can guess, I used the clear label in the kitchen, YUP. It was super cool, quick and It’s AWESOME. Within minutes I had my printer set up, typed up all my spices and printed them. The cool thing about this Epson LabelWorks LW-600P printer is, it also cuts your labels as soon as it is done printing them, no more running around and looking for a scissor and wasting lots of tape, the label maker takes the guesswork right out for you. SUPER cool!. Within minutes I had all my labels typed, printed and cut.

All you need to make your very own #DIY Spice magnet board is:

  • 1 Sheet metal from the Home improvement Store; Lowes had mine already in the size of the side of my cabinet, no cutting needed
  • magnetic spice tins, Bed bath & Beyond, WorldMarket and many other Stores have these
  • Heavy Duty Velcro, Walmart or Craft Stores have it
  • Fabric of your choice
  • Mod Podge
  • Epson LabelWorks Printer

  • ModPodge the Sheet Metal and place the Fabric of your choice over, let dry for a good day or two before placing the magnetic spice tins on.
  • Attach the Velcro strips on the back of the Sheet Metal and on the back of the cabinet or wall where you like to attach it to. It’s easier if you attach it to the sheet metal first and keep both Velcro pieces attached and then place it onto the cabinet or wall, that way they are aligned.
  • Print your spice labels with your Epson LabelWorks printer
  • Fill your Spice tins
  • attach the tins to your magnet board

#DIY Magnet Spice Racksimple idea

So simple and now you have one extra cabinet to put other junk  stuff in and your spices are always handy when needed. It works really well for us. I love the Epson LabelWorks printer and I actually take it with me when on the go and I know that I have to sit at the Soccer fields or waiting in the pick up line, I can print my projects while waiting and get some work done. It’s perfect for killing time. Now nothing will be lost, I will be able to label everything.

The Epson LW-600P and iLabel app takes full advantage of the capabilities of smart phones and tablets to offer features never before available with traditional makers, such as:

  • “True-View” label preview capability using the camera function to ensure labels perfectly match what’s on the screen
  • Wireless create, edit and print labels
  • Handwriting mode for custom drawing or annotation of labels using the touch screen interface
  • Speech-to-text voice transcription and printing
  • In-app storage of created labels for future use
  • Import of custom graphics such as symbols, logos and photographs to copy & paste onto labels for  a more professional look or to add a personalized touch
  • Creation of QR code labels for content sharing or barcode labels for inventory management which can be scanned by third-party QR/barcode apps

Isn’t it cool? This is such a powerful Printer/App combo that will come in handy for so many things from labeling your entire house the kids and creating invitations, scrapbooks, wedding ribbons and so many more things, I’m sure you can come up with many uses for this little “Big” printer.

For more information, be sure to visit Epson and the entire line of LabelWorks products.

What would you label with this Epson LabelWorks printer?
