{Crockpot Thursday} Bavarian Pork Loin

July 14, 2011 By Melanie Roberts 10 Comments

Happy Thursday…. Did you miss me last week? I can not say how fast time went by and before I knew it, it was Friday and I looked  at my calendar 3 times before I realized" OMG.. I missed Crock-pot Thursday"…. OOPS.. guess I’m just a  Crazy Mom after all…

But we are back this week, with a wonderful German Dish. I actually found this dish in the Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook . I love the Taste of HomeCookbooks; this dish sure was wonderful and didn’t disappoint at all.

If you like pork, sauerkraut and carrots, this is for you, it will cook for hours and get all yummy just in time for dinner. Even the toddler ate it {Well, we told her, she would get BIG and Strong…. anything to get her to eat, right…lol}. Wonderful, simple dish.. check it out and let us know how you liked it.

P.s you can leave the Carrots out or even add apples if you like, if you add apples, wait till about 2 hrs before dinner to add them Smile Yummmm…

Thank you for this recipe. The only way my husband will eat pork is when it is cooked with sauerkraut and apples. I guess it’s the german in him. However when I cook it in the oven, it gets dried out and anemic looking. I will have to try this.

I’m a meat and potatoes type of person, so I really appreciate this recipe! …and it’s easy to make too! My next shopping trip to Sam’s Club will include pork loin on my grocery list! Thanks Melanie!

You can add spices, I never do because the flavor of the sauerkraut will pretty much take over; šŸ™‚

I’ve never made pork loin before, but it seems so simple in the crockpot!
