We hardly ever go out to eat anymore and very seldom have a date night; but the other day I saw an add on TV advertising the Lobsterfest at Red Lobster. They are celebrating 30 years! WOW! We love Red Lobster and since Seafood is very healthy and a big part of our diet this year, I surprised hubby with a dinner date night.
We haven’t been to Red Lobster in ages, I couldn’t remember the last time I was there. I was super excited to try one of their many amazing dishes part of their Lobsterfest. Before we headed to the restaurant, I checked their website and found a coupon for a FREE Appetizer, so I grabbed that. Still have to be thrifty even on a date. Trust me, there is no such thing as a cheap date!
Be sure to come HUNGRY! There is a lot of food part of the Lobsterfest, especially if you grabbed the FREE appetizer coupon as well. We tried the Stuffed Mushrooms to get us started and they were delicious. I love stuffed mushroom, but usually they are stuffed with breadcrumbs and maybe a itty bitty tiny shrimp, not the Stuffed Mushrooms at Red Lobster; the mushroom was actually small, but the stuffing busted out with flavor, cheese, and lobster!! Really delicious and a great way to start off your dinner date.
We enjoyed our stuffed mushrooms and had the yummy and so famous Red Lobster Biscuits to keep us company till our salad arrived. The salad was nothing fancy, just a garden salad with veggies, but perfect with the biscuits to keep the flavors going. We couldn’t wait for the main course to arrive. I ordered the Wood-Grilled Lobster & Lobster Tacos and mashed potatoes, it actually came with rice, but I substituted for the mashed potatoes instead and LOVED it!!!
The Fish Tacos were really, really good. Light and fresh and just perfect. The Tacos were topped with cilantro slaw, fresh pico de gallo and spicy ranch sauce. SOOO GOOD!!
My husband decided to try the Maine Lobster & Shrimp Trio. A wood-grilled Maine lobster tail, garlic-grilled shrimp, and lobster-and-shrimp mac ‘n’ cheese with a white Cheddar and bacon sauce, topped with Parmesan crumbs. Served with wild rice pilaf.
My husband loved his dinner entrée and couldn’t even finish all of it. He usually cleans his plates and asks for seconds but even these big portions had him ask for a doggie bag. We had a great time at Red Lobster for our date night and tried our hardest to grab a dessert, but it was a no go. Both of us were too full and had boxes to go for lunch the next day.
I did take a glimpse at their dessert menu and OHHH it looked amazing; the Warm Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie really called my name, but I was able to turn down those voices and walk away……
It was a fun date night and I’m so glad we decided to give Red Lobster a try this time. The perfect dinner for a great night out without the kids. If you are looking for a great place to eat for your next date night, be sure to check out the Lobsterfest, with 8 amazing entrees part of the fest, there is something for everyone to enjoy. But hurry, Lobsterfest is only around for a limited time and it will end April 14, 2013.

Those cheddar biscuits are outrageously good! Wish we had a Red Lobster closer, would certainly be there more often. The fish tacos look really good, too- you are so making me crave seafood now!! Might have to find a reason to travel soon just to find a Red Lobster 🙂
