Drinking water is a story all of its own. I kind of have a love hate relationship. I love water don’t get me wrong, some days it’s easier to drink my daily quota than others. We all know that drinking water is much better for you than drinking soda. This year for our annual Christmas gathering I decided to mix it up a little and I mean in more ways than one.

See, when I was a little girl, growing up in Germany I remember one present that my dad made my grandma, I must have been 12ish and to this day every Christmas eve I think about the present my dad gave my grandma. It’s totally strange, I don’t remember many gifts I had received when I was younger or what I gifted family and friends but this one product totally stood out and it’s something I had appear in my mind every Christmas eve. Ahhh the memories! Let me tell you what the product was that totally swept me off my feet. It was non other than the SodaStream Power, a sparkling water maker!

You heard me right. SodaStream Power, a sparkling water maker was the super cool product that my dad gave to my grandma on Christmas eve and I remember telling myself that when I grow up I want one, too. Well, many moons later and I moved to the US and SodaStream was nowhere in sight. You can make your very own syrup with your favorite fruit, just boil the fruit in water or fruit juice, add a little sweetener (if needed) and some lemon juice. Reduce the fruit, mesh through a strainer and add to your sparkling water. Voila, simple as that.

The possibilities are endless, one of my favorite drink that my grandma always made for me and to this day is the first drink I make when I get sparkling water is cherry water. It’s so simple you just use cherry juice, add SodaStream Sparkling water maybe some mint and a straw, enjoy. It’s that simple!

As I mentioned earlier, for our Christmas Party I decided to set up a drink bar, gave my guests choices of different fresh fruit like lemon, lime, cranberries, blueberries and raspberries, add the SodaStream water flavors as well and some apple juice, cherry juice and orange juice so everyone could create their very own drink of choice.

The fun part is that since this is such a unique party set up everyone wants to try many different flavors and ideas, so why not encourage your guests to pick up their very own SodaStream and they can create their very own flavors all year long.

A few of my favorite drinks are:

1. ½ cup apple juice, 1 cup SodaStream Sparkling water, handful cranberries and a lemon.
2. ½ cup cherry juice, lemon & lime slices, cranberries and 1 cup SodaStream sparkling water
3. ½ cup orange juice, handful of blueberries, lemon & lime slices

These are just a few of my favorite combinations, I don’t ever add extra sugar since it’s really not needed. The possibilities are endless and so simple to infuse your favorite fruit with the SodaStream sparkling water.
