Monopoly Streets
Friday nights is always Family Game night at the Crazy Mom’s house; each week the Tween or the Teen gets to pick a board game and we all sit on the table after the toddler goes to bed and have some family time. One of my Tween’s favorite game is Monopoly; we have a few different versions and it always takes all evening to finish, but it always is a lot of fun.
Last game evening we had something different, we pulled out the Wii… amazing how technology has moved and now all the favorite board games are on a TV screen… I think it won’t be long and we are there with Jet Jackson….lol…
Okay well since we had the Monopoly Streets, it was no brainer that my Tween wanted us to play this game Friday evening. To celebrate its 75th anniversary, the world of Monopoly comes to life through a living, breathing city that you can build, own, and monopolize. Monopoly Streets has everything you love about the board game, presented as a street level tour of Mr. Monopoly’s fully animated world. Engage in a head-to-head race to build the greatest city and accumulate the most wealth. Play against your friends and see their Miis populate your world!
What is Monopoly Streets?
Monopoly Streets reinvigorates the classic game of fortune in a whole new format. Explore the streets of your favorite town as you journey from the cheap motels of Baltic Avenue to the ritzy Boardwalk suites and more. Watch your fortunes rise and fall as your player headquarters change from a luxurious mansion to a dilapidated hut – and back, if you’re lucky. Feeling competitive? Use your street smarts to auction off your properties and break your rivals’ banks, or even challenge players worldwide in exciting online play. You set the standards with the opportunity to set and save house rules – play longer, shorter or whatever way you want. Play in classic game mode, explore new game twists in Monopoly City and Monument City or download extra themed boards and tokens online for changing adventures that keep you passing “Go” over and over again. Jump into the excitement of this classic game but watch out – once you reach the top, there’s nowhere to go but back down.
How did we like it?
It is a wonderful family game, just like it’s original BIG Brother very
entertaining and a lot of fun but with an “Electronic” twist. My Favorite part was not loosing the money on the table or trying to figure out if the game goes too long, what to do with the game board, you just hit the Pause button.. simple and you can finish dinner or whatever needs to be done real quick before you can finish this game. It does take some time, just like the original version, you are still playing the same rules, but now on the TV with your Wii. it’s a fun game for the entire family, you will get lots of quality time with your kids and a ton of laughs as well as “Oh no you are not gonna buy this..”… It was a great game and I can’t wait to play it again with the kids.

I love the board game monopoly, unfortunately I have never managed to pass that enthusiam on to my kids, but this may just be the answer, if only I can master how to use the Wii.

That looks fun. We had Monopoly for our Nintendo pre-WIi and it was not nearly as fun.
