We all know, this year was a very bad Flu, cold and Allergy season, the bad part, it’s not over yet. I know a lot of people that are getting the second round of the flu that is going around and it’s no fun. We got our fair share this season as well and every time we feel a cold or cough coming on we grab our trusted Robitussin to make us feel better in no time.
Robitussin has medicine for every symptom, you don’t have to take an “Cure all” for just a cough or a Flu medication to get the sniffles away. Nope, Robitussin has it right on their packaging, explaining what symptoms will match their medications; in and out of the store in no time and getting to feeling better.
I love the Day/Night pills, making it perfect for the working mom like me, grab the Robitussin Cold & Flu day and you will feel better during the day while at work, without making you drowsy; yet when you get home, take the night and you will get a restful night of sleep.
My husband has Asthma and the only cough medication his doctor recommends for him is Robitussin; so far it has worked well for him. So if you have a persistent cough check with your doctor if Robitussin is right for you as well.
A new cool tool Robitussin just released is the phone App, giving you access to the Robitussin Relief Finder while on the go; you will know what medication you should take once you input your symptoms and when you sick, this will be a lifesaver, knowing what to pick up at the store. We’ve all been there standing as sick as we can be in front of the Flu/Cold/Allergy isle trying to find the best medicine. Drives me crazy… Thanks to the App I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
Now you know what medications we use in our house when we do get a bug, but I also wanted to give you my TOP 5 tips on how to stay well.
Best way to keep your family well:
-
Wash your hands!!! That is the most important thing EVER!! Wash, wash, wash… We always use some antibacterial soap and sing Old McDonald 2 times, or any other song so the kids wash their hands at least 20 seconds.
-
Change your clothes after spending the day outside, daycare, work etc. as soon as you get into the house. You have a ton of germs on your clothes, kids sneeze at you, clients shake your hands, cough on you; you never know, but a lot of Germs travel into your home on your clothing. Make it a habit to change right away.
-
Eat healthy, fresh fruit and veggies every day. Citrus is great as well. When you know there is a big Flu or Cold outbreak in your area, start to eat more veggies, fruit and just overall eat healthier food. Drink LOTS of water!!!
-
Don’t go to work, school or daycare sick! If you are sick that is bad enough, you don’t want to spread the germs and get everyone else sick and maybe even catch it again a second time around. Stay home!! Rest, rest, rest!!!
-
Use disinfecting sprays around your home to clean germs, bathroom, doorknobs, handles, water faucet, things you wouldn’t think about to disinfect, they always hold germs. Don’t forget your phone, PC and tablets and yes, the TV remote. Very Germy!!
These are our top 5’s on how to keep healthy and happy this year and maybe avoid the threaded Flu & Cold outbreak. But in case you do catch the bug get lots of rest, lots of fluids and grab the Robitussin to get you well in no time. Do you have any tips on how to stay healthy or how you keep your family healthy? Would love to hear it.

The first thing I do when getting home from anywhere is wash my hands and change my clothing. Why would you want to sit on your sofa when say you just sat in a doctor’s office chair? Yuck!

Great tips, Melanie! We suffer from allergies year round and live in one of the top five cities for allergies in the country. It’s a double whammy. We always have Robitussin on hand.

We keep and go through lots of sanitizer here at our home. My 5 year old grandson cannot handle dirty hands and we have encouraged him to keep those hands clean. We also give vitamins and probiotics daily. Thanks for the coupon. We have used Robitussin many times and it works

I take Coldeeze as soon as I sense the first symptom of a cold. Seems to have worked this year, only one minor bout of a cold so far, and the rest of the family had their share!
Also helps to work from home a few days a week – get to avoid the germs of my coworkers altogether that way! Too bad the kids still bring it home from school.

I use to be one of the first people to fall sick every time the season changed.. but now I take better care of myself and have started working on building my immunity by eating lots of fruits, fish oil, green tea and everything healthy- and I don’t fall sick often anymore!
