Hide’em and Hatch’em super cute Easter Egg Surprise #Review

March 21, 2013 By Melanie Roberts 9 Comments

Hide them and hatch them easter eggs

Each year I’m on the hunt to find some fun Easter basket ideas for the kids, even the big ones and this year I think I found something special for all of them. Hide ’em and Hatch ’em Eggs! These pastel colored eggs are great for hiding or filling the Easter basket…but here’s the twist: simply soak them in water overnight and out will hatch some new friends…a duck, chick or bunny!

Our Easter bunny arrived a few weeks early and left some of these eggs in the kitchen; the Princess was super excited when she found them after school and couldn’t wait to see what would grow out of her egg. I let her choose one of the eggs and the rest will be a surprise for the Easter Bunny to hide come Easter Sunday.

All you do is hide the eggs amongst your kids Easter eggs and gifts and then later on add them to a cup of room temperature water (very important that it’s room temperature), then walk away. Let the egg sit for about 24 hours and after 6-12 hours you can see the first cracks on the egg and then the surprise visitor will appear…. hatching right out of the egg.

Such a cute surprise and I loved how the bunny looked cute and true to a bunny. I’ve seen similar products but the inside surprise was cheap foam, decendegrating quickly or didn’t look like the “look alike” at all, because the water swelled it up too much and what not. I LOVED them!!! The bunny is now happy sitting amongst my Princess’s other Bunny’s in the bunny stable and having a blast. She had to take her bunny on road trips and to the grocery store for days now, luckily he fits in her palm.

What a great idea, I can honestly say I LOVE it!! I will get many more of these eggs for friends and family instead of too much candy, they will now have something they can play with for a long time, even after Easter is over. Perfect way to give your kids less candy as well. We love candy, don’t get me wrong, but we also pick and choose what candy and how much and with this Hide’em and Hatch’em no debating at all.. they get to keep ALL the fun and play all Easter Sunday long and then some.

We have never had these and they’re so cute. My daughter has bought things that hatched like dinosaurs for my grandson and he loves them. He watches everyday to see if it’s hatched yet so this would be super cute for him
