I recently discovered the amazing world of canning and I have to admit, I’m a bit addicted. Not a weekend goes by that I don’t can some kind of fruit. My family already asked if I will quit my day job and make Jams and Jelly’s for sale anytime soon. I can honestly say I’m in love and if you haven’t tried it, you are missing out!
You can get started right now… really NOW! Today is National #CanItForward Day and National Can-It-Forward Day has gone International! Expanding to South Africa, Australia and Canada, International Can-It-Forward Day 2014 takes place on today, Saturday, August 16.
Whether you are a canning aficionado or a canning novice, this celebration is the perfect time to get all your questions answered, check out the new innovations in canning and get your hands on some fabulous recipes.
Your host Jarden Home Brands will host this year’s first ever International Can-It-Forward Day with special guest, renowned chef and Bravo’s Top Chef judge, Hugh Acheson! In addition, home cooks will be able to connect with a variety of online and in-person activities, now expanded to Canada and Australia.
New and experienced canners can participate in a live webcast, taking place at Brooklyn Borough Hall Farmers Market, filled with canning demos where viewer questions will be answered in real-time by Chef Acheson and other experts while they learn the most popular (and delicious) home canning recipes.
So what are you waiting for? Join in on the fun and check out what the International Can-It-Forward 2014 has to offer and don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a fun Jarden Home Brands prize pack.

I had no idea it was Can-it-forward day yesterday but still canned Dill Pickles, Mustard Relish and my first batch of Pepper Jelly of the season. 🙂
I too, started canning a couple of years ago and have seriously become addicted (and have recently started my own business doing it!)
So you should do it! (just don’t quit your day job yet! ) 🙂

I used to can all the time! I loved making Strawberry Jam and Raspberry jam and canning veges and fruits. I miss those days. I like your Strawberry Marmalade!

I love strawberry marmalade and I used to can all the time years ago. Nothing as good as home canning veges and fruit. I did not know that there was a day for Canning. I need to get back into it. The food tastes better canned.

I have never attempted to can anything before but this makes it look like something I could attempt.
