We love to learn languages in the Crazy mom house and what easier way then to learn through play? I found anew product that looked super cool, easy to use and very promising. If you know me, I had to check it out for you guys and let you know all about it.

This is what’s in the box
The i-Mat comes in 4 foam pieces; the mat is colorful and can be wiped down; many animals from around the world are printed onto the mat with each name of the animal close by. Your little one will be able to learn the names of each animal in English, Spanish and even Chinese; how super cool is that? The i-Mat is geared for children 18 month and up and my 5 year old had a blast playing with it as well. There are two games that you can play besides just touching each animal with the electronic pen that is part of the i-Mat.
One game will make an animal sound and your child will have to look for it and point the pen at the animal; if the child picked the wrong animal the calm and pleasant voice in the pen will tell your child to try again.
The second game will ask for a specific animal and your child will have to find it and push the pen on the animal; again if the child is wrong it will be encouraged in a calm way to try again and find the animal.
Each game can be played in English, Spanish and Chinese and giving your child the opportunity to learn another language besides the one they hear at home. My Princess loved that and kept pushing different language after she clicked on English to hear the animal in Spanish and Chinese, I do wish they had more language choices available, but already love that they are offering different languages; so important for the kids and very few companies include that in their products… TWO Thumbs up for that!!
This is a fun learning product that will keep your little ones learning for hours; Creative Baby will also debut additional mats soon that will help your little one learn the Alphabet or Under the Sea Ocean life; each Mat retails for $29.99 and the starter set with the Pen retails for $79.99. I think that is a fair price for a high quality product that will teach your kids along the way.
The pen also has a voice recorded to capture special moments and has a 2GB memory; how cool is that? Check out our Video Review below and I know this would be a great Birthday or Christmas present for your little one that won’t be sitting on the shelf for long… I know you will get lots of use out of it day in day out.

Hi,
I found your blog because of your comment on veggiesandglitter. You seemed so kind! 🙂
My name is Eszter by the way. Nice to meet you!
Back to your question: I would like to win this mat for my son because he will need lots of practice language wise. He was born in Spain but currently we live in Asia. He is bi-lingual so he will learn to talk later than his peers which is fine with us. He just turned 8 months.
I like the fast that we are talking about a mat. I would love to have mats in our household later on. These things are not so easy to “buy” at the moment. We live on an island…
xoxo, Eszter
